The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
AND THE WINNER IS:
AliBoy for his BINGO suggestion. I am hoping to trial this for a few weeks as soon as we have had a chance to program it. Each user will get a Bingo card in their MyFreeola profiles page, and the random numbers will be displayed on the forums through the week. I like this because it provides us with something to promote in one of the e-mail bulletins, and it might encourage people to visit the forums more regularly.
Well done AliBoy. This win should be on the winners list within the next week.
There were some other excellent suggestions, and I particularly liked pb's Find Something Free suggestion, and AliBoy's slant on a Talent Competition, where each user has only one entry of any kind (though there are the obvious alter-identity issues with this).
One of our £30 Gameaday Prizes will go to the winner of this competition.
Your task is to suggest the best idea for a Gameaday Competition to be held on the chat forums at some time in the future. If the winning idea is worthy enough, then we will promote it in the next issue of our fabulous Freeola News Bulletin, to attract competitive types to the forums.
You have two weeks to come up with your idea. The closing date is Midnight on February 7th.
Your idea must work within the normal framework of the chat forums and you should explain it fully and in good English.
ABSOLUTELY NO edited posts will be considered and if the same idea is suggested several times it will be the first one which counts.
Enter this competition at any time between now and Feb 7th, simply by posting your idea on this thread, perhaps starting with the phrase "My incredible idea is..."
You can enter as many times as you want but we reserve the right to delete the entire works of competition spammers.
Extra brownies will go to anybody who's idea seems likely to produce something useful, or would encourage a high level of interest.
Nope - we will not run a Cutest Forum User's Baby Competition.
While the image involved does not have to have any relation to Easter whatsoever, you put an image on the site somewhere. This site is quite big, so it'd be worth it. After placing that image on the site, you start a topic containing the rules and a preview of that image so that people know what to look for. The first to find it wins. And to add to the difficulty, so as to not give away the prize too quickly or too easily, have several different images which need to be found on the site.
Obviously the fatal flaw with this competition is cheating, so I think participants would have to email their locations of the images to you rather than posting them on here.
Basically what it says, creating a cute little mascot for Freeola to maybe be used in the actual logo or something.
Freeola staff create a new thread being called "jokes" or something like that.
Then we submit the best jokes we know of. Staff decide which is the best joke and then that person wins.
Each few days a staffie or user gives some names, objects and a location that must be used to produce a short story. Run the competion over a few weeks with the best stories being awarded a prize.
Picture caption competitons
Start with a member of staff posting an image. Users write captions for the image and the staff member picks a winner who then posts an image and picks the next winner - could have a winner every few days.

Its not really something you can win at. The person who does the longest and best stunts? And besides you cant save your work unless you have some specific programs installed. correct?
This is what a sprite is, not the drink!
Sprites are usually made in Microsoft's Paint software, installed with Windows. If for some reason your not using windows, there are main sites and softwares out there you could use to create one.
The best sprite design wins!
Post a link to a youtube video, it be entertaining, funny, comical or just plain out crazy ect. Just no inappropriate content. The best video will win!
Or you could hold a contest every month, where in one month you post funny videos, the other month entertaining videos. The best one for that months category wins!
Line rider is what it's name is. You draw up some lines, and you make a dude with his bike thing ride it. You can play it here.
It's a good contest because everyone can play it, you don't have to have anything installed, it's just basic creativity. Anyone can do it, yes even your grandma...
Nicest poem/letter wins.
awwww

Sorry about this image. It seems to habe been slightly altered to what it was like when I made it :-(. Hopefully this wont have ruined my idea and maybe they should be small images so this wont happen in the future.
