I think your over exagerating it a bit, if the car 15 is possible to use i would much rather use that than the m60.

Thanks to the unbalanced M60 Machniegun, the game feels like how the Yanks would have liked the war to have been won. All the Us really needed to do was to arm every soldier with an M60, then bingo, the war would have been won in a matter of days. Honestly, I don't know why EA don't just put a sniper scope on the gun and be done with it.
