Okay, I just made that up...

(the PS2 train Simulator story threw me off for a bit :) )

But what if...

The X-Box were to be released before Christmas (say October) this year, with a price tag of 150.00 quid...

and to have a full compliment of games avalible at launch?

Would anyone here change their minds and pick up the box?

Would anyone take another look at the new machine?

Or would you stick with what you've got... keeping with the PS2 or waiting for the GC?

When it comes to general entertainment, Sony are undoubtably the king.

Your totally right Armitage Shanks Microsoft are expecting a loss from the X-Box, and are going to use it instead to wedge themselves into the console market.

Microsoft would like the Xbox to be a great success, but Im sure even they would admit thats hard with your first attempt. Microsoft just dont want Sony to become the undisputed kings of the console/home entertainment industry!

I think Microsoft need a reality check. They can't be the best at everthing.

Come to think of it, they're not really the best at anything. Flight sims, yes. Anything else, no.

Microsoft would like to be making money on the Xbox by 2003 althought admittedly thats optomistic 2005 would be a better bet.

However whats going to suprise people in my view is that if the Xbox breaks even in 2005 I would think Microsoft would bring out an Xbox2 before Sony unleashes its PS3... after all Microsoft would just have to bundle all the latest PC stuff in a box again so it wouldnt take long to design an Xbox3!

I really doubt they will make profits at all. Bill Gates would be laughing. It doesn't affect him, and he can say a big huge "TOLD YOU SO!!!".

yes i know the card is nothing on its own, but the x-box even at £300 should be a bargain.
