Okay, I just made that up...

(the PS2 train Simulator story threw me off for a bit :) )

But what if...

The X-Box were to be released before Christmas (say October) this year, with a price tag of 150.00 quid...

and to have a full compliment of games avalible at launch?

Would anyone here change their minds and pick up the box?

Would anyone take another look at the new machine?

Or would you stick with what you've got... keeping with the PS2 or waiting for the GC?

No, I haven't played it and I don't intend to. I don't have enought time to do things that I want to anyway without getting into PC gaming. Also, I don't have the space and I doubt my PC can handle a CPU intensive RTS anyway. I'm soon going to spend £30 and get a K6-2 550mhz, but only so Fireworks runs quicker.

Counter-strike may be good, but that's one game. GT3 is probably just as good, but there are loads more games on the PS2 that appeal to me.

He is right TBN although it is good to have a small collection of decent home consoles, these have alimited capcity, in multiplayer, online, graphics, sounds, not matter how much you love your PS2 it will never match a PC!

Take Max Payne for instance you might find quality nearly as good as this on a PS2/XBOX/GC but not AS good as it is on PC.

And what about games like ALien vs Predator 2 and Ureal 2 they look awesome, either take a look in PCZONE magazine or go to www.pczone.com or it could be .co.uk it could be either I cant remember!

Consoles are better for playing a simple fun game though!

u dont really need to spend £1000. u can get somthin like a 700mhz processor for under £100, and a half decent graphics card for around the same price. ANd ram prices have rocketed down. u can get 256MB ram for £30 now.

have you ever played counter strike? this game is enough to turn anyone into a PC fan. I once spent £500 on my PC and have updated it twice at £400 a pop. it isn't cutting edge but it's still good enough to run almost all games.

I hate playing games on PCs. They're unreliable, they're likely to crash, the loading times are sooooooo long and they just have the wrong games for me. I do like RTSs a lot but Red Alert 2 is just about the only one I ever play on.

One more thing. I would have to spend at least £1000 on my PC to get it to anything like the standard of my £300 PS2.

As for multiplayer, well when was the last time you had 4 mates huddled round a PC playing a FPS or racing game? Never. The PC just can't do it. What if you can't afford to play Net games all the time? Another thing is, if you've got a modem it's virtually unplayable. Have you even TRIED Red Alert 2 on a 56k? It takes 2 hours to finish even the shortest game, it's so slow.

None of these compare to a decent PC game. Counter Strike on a console? I don't think so. Half Life? The PC version is 10x better. And you'll never better the PCs multiplayer capabilities.

I dont really care about the 3D or graphics thing in Management games. ITs not what it is about. CM is about strategy and Luck. They match engine for the game is so simple, but still its the best around.

I've got that. PCs do management games very well, but they're just not geared towards 3D.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Brilliant service.
