Okay, I just made that up...

(the PS2 train Simulator story threw me off for a bit :) )

But what if...

The X-Box were to be released before Christmas (say October) this year, with a price tag of 150.00 quid...

and to have a full compliment of games avalible at launch?

Would anyone here change their minds and pick up the box?

Would anyone take another look at the new machine?

Or would you stick with what you've got... keeping with the PS2 or waiting for the GC?

these are your ideas of classics, ask a PC Gamer and (s)he'll talk about Wolfenstein, Doom, Champ Manager (the original), the list is long but i am young and have a crap memory.

than what you've spent in the last 8 years. and look at the number and variety of PC games out there.

and hurry up and reply on FOG chat!

£600. £100 for a MegaDrive, £200 for a PSone and £300 for a PS2. However, I personally have only paid for the PS2. I will have to buy everything for this PC. For it I need:

128mb more RAM
A new motherboard
A new processor (Duron 700 methinks)
New CD-ROM drive
A DVD drive
A joypad
A sound card
A bigger HDD
Maybe a new graphics card.

Coupled with what it cost in the first place and what I've already spent on it, that takes me to over twice as much as what I've spent on consoles and it stil won't be as good as a PS2.

same as here. ALl i use my PC is for college, internet and Championship manager. ALl run easily with a 300mhz processor.

I only have a 4 speed CD-ROM. More expense I see. If I get into PC gaming I will be like you, spending £900 on it just so I can play the latest games. Well nothankyouverymuch, I'll stick with my next-gen PS2 that is actually DESIGNED to play games, unlike the PC which is totally game-unfriendly.

Look, I'm not saying there are no good games on the PC, but it costs far too much and I have neither the time nor the money. I will use my PC for work and the Internet, as that's what it's designed to do. I will use my PS2 for playing games as that's what it's designed to do.

It's like cooking steaks in a toaster...

anyway, what are you on about load times??? play fifa on the PC then on the PSX and see the difference, you can get into a game in 30-40secs on the PC, it takes about 4mins on the PSX and the graphics aren't half as good.
