...and I was wondering if you lot can answer some of my questions.

Which two games would you consider the best ones on the console?

Are the non-Nintendo peripherals unreliable?

Any ideas where I can find a good deal? In Argos of all places I saw a GameCube plus an extra non-Nintendo Controller and memory card, plus Mario Kart Double Dash and Zelda for £99.99.

Any good? Or can I get better?

Overall, my favourite GameCube games (exclusive to the GameCube anyway) are The Wind Waker and Super Smash Bros Melee.

Though I'd be suprised if that's the popular view...

My two favourite games for my GC are Harvest Moon and Viewtiful Joe. (Super Monkey Ball for multi-player gaming though).

All of my memory cards are third party and they all work perfectly.

It's certainly worth getting a GC though, purely because it has the most original games, it's why I like it anyway. Plus, Resi 4 is going to be absolutely amazing.

Are they selling Zelda:TWW in the deal, or is it the Zelda bonus disc? If it's TWW then I would say it sounds like a good deal.

Not a bad deal really. Most retailers just sell you the mario pack and ONLY the mario pack for 99.99

This way your gaining a memory card (thats a must have) and another controller for your friend (thats also a must for a game like mario kart)

Yes, go for it!

Don't get Sonic games, they're rubbish. You'd probably do well to get yourself three games; Zelda: Wind Waker, and Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness for cheap. ED can be found for about £10 at many places, and retail for Prime is £20. It'll end up around the same as 2 full price games.

I think the Sonic Mega Collection may be worth a look though. I find the older Sonic games far superior to the new 3D stuff.

Yeah, since the first and second Sonics for the Sega, I've totally hated all of them, and this bizarre 'rotate the character' game seems a daft gimmick.
