OK, this is a bit of a spur of the moment post, so don’t expect it to be good.

The good:

• Absolutely fantabulistic graphics!
• Great handling
• Harder than before
• Not possible to buy a super-powerful car from the off
• More tracks
• 2001 cars
• Swish presentation
• Virtually no loading times
• Cool music
• Favorite music tracks playlist option
• Force feedback wheel available
• 6 players
• It’s Gran Turismo!
• It’s Gran Turismo!
• One more time: It’s Gran Turismo!

The bad:

• Can’t turn the music up
• New menu-like presentation isn’t as good as the last one
• Takes longer to navigate
• Not much of a sequel
• More bloody license tests!
• Not as many options

The missing:

• 300+ cars
• Second hand cars
• TVR Cerbera (allegedly). If I find that’s not there, someone will die.
• Polish
• The Corrs
• Damage (still, but I know why)
• High Speed Ring

Verdict: Very good, but shows signs of being rushed. Could have had a little more thought put into it.

What has the Corrs got to do with GT3?

That missing volume control on the music is so annoying. I tried turning the SFX off so I could hear the music but the games was ruined without the car noises so now I guess I just have to live and bear it.

Another bad thing is that even with the massive PS2 memory cards only one GT3 game save is allowed on each memory card. This really sucks when you have to share a game with your younger brother who continually blows your cash on crappy NA tunes. Damn him.

Seeing as GT is such a big franchise and must benefit them greatly, I think they should play along with that.

Seriously? Somehow, stupid as it is, it still doesn't suprise me.

Something about manufacturers not wanting to see their cars smashed up in to wrecks, or at least not wanting the buying public to see them like that..

Damage would have been cool though. Why couldn't they do it?

The lost cars are the price you pay for the graphics. And I wouldn't mourn too much about losing The Corrs, especially when you've got Ash and Feeder.

The more and more I read into the PS2 and its 'super' games, more more I want a Gamecube...
