Urgh, 'England' and 'batting collapse' in the same sentance once again. There are so many batters out of form and England are just too rigid in their setup to shake things up.

South Africa need 155 and although England have been fairly economical with the ball, I don't think they can hold South Africa off.

I like Vaughan as captain but his one day batting stats are bizarre. There is no real reason why England can't be good again because they showed great form in the Commonwealth Bank series but England have been terrible in this World Cup.

Looks like it could be over soon. 121-8. Time to get rid of Vaughan maybe?

Another easy win for Australia. They got 3 quick wickets and although Sri Lanka made a 140 partnership, they blew the chance for a 250 score and a late stand edged them to 226.

Australia easily made the 227 and are still unbeaten.

Sri Lanka were resting 2 of their best players but Australia look the team to beat by some margin.

The commentators were saying that the highest target successfully chased in this World Cup was 247 when Australia beat England. Will Australia be beaten or is this another World Cup for the Aussies?

Fantastic result for Ireland. I read somewhere that a victory for Ireland would be enough to get Ireland an ODI ranking.

Ireland managed to make a decent total and then put Bangladesh under a lot of pressure and Bangladesh came up short.

That result eliminates Bangladesh from contention so that leaves 4th place between South Africa, England and the West Indies.

That South Africa V England game will be so crucial.

Not a great game by any means. South Africa lost the toss and it proved quite crucial as the ball was moving all over the place off the pitch at the start. Then in the field, they dropped a few catches and New Zealand crept over the line.

At least it makes the South Africa V England game extremely crucial. New Zealand and the Aussies through to the semi finals as well.

Oh well, it was still a convincing victory. It gave Symonds a chance to bat at least.

All out for 91 from 30 overs. The Aussies shouldn't have any trouble getting that. Ireland actually salvaged their situation quite well, considering they have been totally outclassed so far.

The bowling has been savage from the Aussies. As long as they survive more than 14 overs, they won't go in the record books for shortest innings.
