Give me Streets of Rage any day.
Most Nintendo games don't have storylines anyway, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, Zelda, other than a breif reason to go nobbing around some farcical land there's very little storyline to be found. It doesn't make them any better for it, but they're still brilliant.
It's mostly second party ones like Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime that focus on story, atmosphere and raw content. They're just as good, though, just in a different way.
Bah, now you've reminded me of Killer Instinct. I really want a new one.

I'm making this up as I'm going along. Don't expect me to understand what I'm saying.
OR
"Ooooh Nintendo games are so great and innovative and really meaningful and touching, when X happened to X in X game I almost felt like crying"
Yeah. Maybe it's the fans who are pretentious with their high and mighty attitudes to the wonderful deep, caring qualities of Nintendo, when it's obvious they are in no way better than any other games company.
I know there are few modern games that are as much fun as ones from the SNES/Megadrive era, even N64 and Playstation but the point is people seem to think Nintendo are some special company who are really different from the rest and offer something amazingly great in comparison but guess what - they don't.
And Viewtiful Joe is due for release on PS2 soon, I believe.
Would you care to explain what you mean by that?

Beyond Good And Evil, enough said.

What game has gameplay (modern game)?
If I want to PLAY a game I'll PLAY a game that actually has GAMEPLAY.
I don't really care how an enjoyable game is achieved, if it's down to storyline or ultra-punchy-action, just as long as it's just that, enjoyable.
