Well, I started out thinking that just buying and playing games would be enough. But then Grix inspired me with his Swordspines company idea, so I'm going to start writing my own games, which will then be put forward to Swordspines at a later date for testing and publication.

Because I left school a couple of decades ago, I'm going to have to either go to Uni. (nah, too much sex and drinking) or teach myself, so I'm doing that latter.

My adventures will be chronicled here, because I don't have enough space on the Swordspines' corporate website.

So, first up, I got hold of Teach Yourself C in 21 days (Sam's Edition £21.99), and have already coded and compiled and executed my first C program. (It prints "and then Sniper died" on your screen, not much, but it's a start.)

Next up, I'm getting a copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Standard v6 edition, which is about £75.19, so I can edit source code and compile it in a more organised and ergonomic fashion.

Hopefully by the time I get my first game published I'll be old enough to retire and live off the royalties. More news, as it happens, in the FM's Quest for Gaming Nirvana thread...

When I'm older, I'd like to be one of the following.

Computer Programmer.
Web Developer.
Games Designer.
Games Tester.

I think that I have the potential to do it as I started at a very young age, 11.

One of the bonus's of the above jobs are...yes, you guessed it, the pay. My friend's dad worked on the Y2K bug and he got £36 per hour! Minimal work per week is 39 hours, so 36 X 39 = £1404!

I'd like to program games. I'd like to do a lot of things :)

But school gets in the way of everything. Well, all I know is at college and Uni, I will study everything to do with computers. Website design, prgram compliling, and games programming etc. I hope to do something really cool when i'm older!

PS: what sort of things do you need to know to be a games programmer, and what other qualifications?
