Right guys, this is a serious thread, so no larking about. One of our Notables, er-no, is unhappy with his PlayStation 2. Although he is well within his rights to not like it, I really want to open his eyes to the glorious world of Sony.

Make no mistake, this is NOT a console wars topic, and anyne who turns this into will be frowned upon. I'm serious here.

This topic is only for people who have or are thinking of getting a PS2. In this thread I want to persuade people that their PS2 is a fine machine, not to be reconciled to a life of neglect. I will attempt to guide people in the right direction, show them which games to buy, inform them of future classics, both near and far, and discuss the merits and downfalls of this fine machine with a civilised and mature attitude.

So, anyone who wants to talk about why they are unhappy, step up and anyone who feels they are up for the job, join me.

There's also the motion sensor tech demo which can detect movement using a cheap webcam.

Ok, I'll go dig up some information about that then.

And anyway, isn't it a bit too easy to perseude someone who has or is getting a PS2 to buy a PS2? :0)

Well, there's G-Surfers, which has the whole of the Earth programmed into it for you to race round.

Well, I'm interested in what the PS2 has to offer, but at the moment, I won't be buying one on those games alone.

Jak and Daxter.
Red Faction.
Starfighter.

Fair point!

One wonders why you are on this thread then, if you're not unhappy with your PS2 (not owning one and all) and not thinking of getting one. :-)

That may sound more offensive than I mean it to. I appear to be struggling with words today !??!!?!?!!

Oh yeah, ZOE as well... but four hours? Jese. I thought BFD was short.

Games that when you read about them, or see pictures of them, make you say "wow". I like them.

I'm not really sure if buying a Ps2 was a good move or not, because I don't have any games for it! Red Faction is on its way though (has been for a week)

However, I borrowed ZOE and Starfighter off of Ant.

ZOE: completed in 4 hours
Starfighter: 1 day

THIS IS NOT CHALLENGING ENOUGH!

Hopefully the other games I get will be worth it :)

No, quite serious this time. I really don't care about AA and how hard it is to make a game... :0) As long as games appeal to me, I'll get the console.

It's not a matter of genres or anything like that, Turbo, it's just that apart from those five or so games, there is not anything I want to play on it.
