Make no mistake, this is NOT a console wars topic, and anyne who turns this into will be frowned upon. I'm serious here.
This topic is only for people who have or are thinking of getting a PS2. In this thread I want to persuade people that their PS2 is a fine machine, not to be reconciled to a life of neglect. I will attempt to guide people in the right direction, show them which games to buy, inform them of future classics, both near and far, and discuss the merits and downfalls of this fine machine with a civilised and mature attitude.
So, anyone who wants to talk about why they are unhappy, step up and anyone who feels they are up for the job, join me.

Hey man, this ain't my topic! If you don't like/ want a PS2, far be it from me to change your mind.
It makes no difference to me :-)

1. The games- there are already some superb games that have been released for PS2. Some personal favourites of mine are Zone Of The Enders (a mech warrior sort of game, but with an emotional storyline,) Star Wars: StarFighter (very much like Roque Squadron, but sort of follows the Episode 1 plot,) Red Faction (amazing FPS shoot 'em up which can easily be compared to Goldeneye and Perfect Dark,) and Smuggler's Run (a fun game that is like Driver, but with off-road type vehicles.)
Other notable games are Shadow Of Memories, SSX. Summoner, Tekken Tag Tournament, Unreal Tournament, Moto GP and Formula 1 2001.
2. Games to be released- this is surely the best part of the PS2. Games such as Devil May Cry, SSX 2, WWF: Smackdown 3, Deus Ex (I think,) Gran Turismo 3 (which is released next week) and surely the most amazing game for a long time, Metal Gear Solid 2. Look forward to the future of PS2, because I certainly am.
3. DVD- Despite complaints (rumours in other words,) the PS2 DVD is actually rather good. Easily as good as a £300 DVD Player, it can play all region 2 DVD's over here, in excellent quality. There's a bit of trouble about leads and wires but for 98% of people, the DVD Player is great. It certainly is for me.
4. Price- Okay, the console may be quite a lot, but when you think about it, with all the other stuff you need, it's not that bad! For a start, most games can be playable with PSX Controllers, which saves a lot of money. Also, the memory card's are 8mb, which means you won't need a lot of them. You can play all your PSX games on the PS2, and they will load a little faster and look a bit better. The games are cheap (cheaper than the latest N64 games)!
5. Overall- So overall, the PS2 seems like a pretty darned good buy. With some great games already released, a host of superb games to look forward to, a nice DVD Player as a bonus, a long with a lot of extras such as being able to play your PSX games, and having an 8mb memory card, I would defintely say that a PS2 is worth buying, and is something I am very proud of.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
The world is programmed in, yes... but you race around 30 courses.
Sixteen players to race against on screen. Well, that's nice.
And it's a F-Zero/Wipeout clone. Sorry, not for me.

Waht will be utilising that then?
