FM licked the first three fingers of his right hand and stroked his eyebrows, smoothing them down. He turned at, white robes with simple gold embroidery down the front swishing around him as he heard the guard approach.

FM was standing in a simple square room, with four braziers, one in each corner, all burning different colours. These weren’t normal flames however, as they did not give off coloured light, and the room remained smokeless, with a white light seeming to emanate from the walls and floor, with no shadows forming. In the middle of the room were two pedestals, about four feet apart. On top of them was a box. In it was FM’s father. FM turned as the guard stopped, bowing.

“Master.” Said Sniper, raising his head, looking into FM’s cold, hard eyes.
“You have your mission? You are ready to leave?”
“Yes Master.”
“Good.” FM turned back to look at the coffin, licking his fingers and rubbings his eyebrows again as he spoke. “This is just the first part my friend. I will have my revenge, I do not know when, but I will/”
“Yes Master.” There was an edge of concern in Snipers voice.
“What is wrong, my friend?”
“I do not know, Master. I think I am worrying with no reason.”
“Ah. You are concerned about the book, yes?” Sniper lowered his eyes. “Do not fear. I will find the book. MY magic grows with each passing month, soon I will have the power needed to find the book. Then, when it is mine, I will have unimaginable power!” FM felt a shiver run up his spine as he closed his eyes, imagining the power he would wield. He looked at Sniper. “You have your orders.”
“Yes Master Meister.”
“Go. Be swift, and do not fail me.” Sniper turned and left the room.

FM turned back to the coffin. As he walked around it, his fingers traced the inscription carved into the stone. He knew them all, word for word, but their feel comforted him. They were instructions on how to travel the underworld.

Wrath exploded through Meka’s mind. He screamed “No!” in a murderous rage as he leapt off the rock. With both hands he brought the sword up while still in mid-air. When he hit the ground he recoiled, swinging it around from behind in an arc. The sword whistled with its speed. The man had turned as Meka hit the ground. Seeing Meka coming, he brought his own sword up defensively, with lightning speed.

Meka watched as if in a dream as his sword come around. Every ounce of his strength went into trying to make the sword go truer, go faster. Be deadlier. The magic raged with his need. Meka looked from the mans sword, hard into the steel blue eyes. Mekas sword followed the track of his eyes, he heard himself still screaming. The man held his sword straight up, to deflect the blow.

Everything else around the man dissolved in Mekas vision. His anger, the magic, was unleashed like never before. No power on earth could deny him the mans blood.

He finished his arc, the sword coming round at eye height to the side of the mans head. It shattered through the mans sword, and exploded through his chainmail hood, bits of molten twisted metal flying off into the undergrowth. The sword continued its journey, making contact with the mans skull, and continuing through, out the other side of his head.

Bits of bone blood and brain flew up into the air as the early morning air was filled with a cloud of red mist. Steaks of blood covered Meka, dripped down his body, dribbled off his sword as he slowly lowered the point to the ground.

The mans body crumpled slowly to the ground, blood pumping out over the ground, mixing with the puddles already there. Meka could feel the cold mist help cool his body.

“Meka!” Meka awoke, a sheen of sweat over his whole body. “Meka, my brother, are you alright?” asked Grix.
“It was that dream.”
“Again?” Meka nodded in reply.
“Come on, get up, we have to meet the others soon.”
“Who?”
“You know, the others from the village. Dan2K1, Venombyte and Ant.”
“What about er-no, and YH?”
“They said they had something to do. They will meet us later.” Grix helped his brother to sit up.
“Ok, give me a few minutes." Grix nodded and left the room. Meka put his head in his hands as he thought about the dream.

“Master Meister?” FM looked around.
“Yes?”
“I have some bad news Lord, about Sniper.”
“He hasn’t dies again has he?”
“Yes Lord, he fell off his horse.”
“How did that kill him?”
“Into the moat.”
“He can swim.”
“Yes Lord, but as he tried to climb out, he must have pulled the lever, the one you ordered put in?”
“I vaguely remember.”
“That let the piranhas in.”
“Ah. I should have expected something like this. He has a whole bloody palace to have his accidents in. I put all that sponge about so he wouldn’t hurt himself, and yet he falls into the piranha moat. Amazing. Nevermind, he will be back by now. Tell him to continue with his task. Tell him to be more careful next time.”

CAVE OF ER-NO THE HERMIT. ENTER YE HERE AND BE ETERNALLY DAMNED IN THE FIRES OF THE SEVENTH HELL, WHERE YOU WILL EXPERIENCE INFINITE PAIN, AND LISTEN TO HEAR'SAY.

"Doesn't like visitors, does he?" YH said

"Well, he is a hermit." pointed out Meka.

The group walked up to the cave entrance.

"Anyone home?" called out YH

"No" A voice replied.

"Are you sure?" queried YH

"Yes"

"Can you check?"

"One moment."

There was a sound of rummaging around....

"Nope, nobody here."

"Erm... we're looking for er-no."

"He's definitely not here. Of all the people who aren't here, he is the most 'not here'."

"You're not being very helpful"

"Bog off down the mysterious teleporter in the woods. It'll take you to New York."

"Um... thanks."

The group turned and headed for the woods...

Grix was suspicious. Well, more suspicious than he normally was.

He explained his story to FM, how he had been driven out by paranoid hatred.

"Oh, right, ok." FM said, not really paying attention.

As Grix finished his story, loads of these german people appeared again, whacked FM and Grix over their heads, and booted them off somewhere.

--------------------

"I was knocked out."

"Well I'm busy! You can't stay here!"

Grix looked around the beach. Still the same old palmtrees, white sand, sea crashing... and the radio control hut. Whenever his brain needed to speak to him face to face, this is where he was bought. This time, however, it was quite accidental.

"Why not?"

"I said, I'm busy. I hate to be disturbed when I'm working."

Grix's brain hobbled off into the radio control hut, still frantically scribbling on a clipboard that I forgot to describe earlier.

"What are you busy WITH?"

Grix's brain sighed, and shoved the clipboard into Grix's stomach. He sat down on the table, while Grix's brain sat at the desk chair, fiddling with some dials.

"I'm trying to work out this sodding plot." Grix's brain commented. "It's not easy with you dropping in every five sodding seconds."

"What've you worked out so far then?" Grix asked.

Grix's brain sighed again. "Well, let's just think this through. Bill Gates is going to be resurrected soon, yah?"

Grix nodded.

"And therefore, he needs his body to do it? Right?"

Grix nodded again.

"No! He doesn't need his body to do it!" Grix's brain shouted...

"Hmmm? What? He's just going to remain as a brain?"

"No, jese... idiot. Right, all he needs is A body, not HIS body. Any body he wants. He just crams his mind into it, and bingo, he's alive."

Grix tried to think.

He looked up at his brain. He sighed.

"So..." Grix said, unsure... "If he can use any body he wants... He's probably trying to find the one that gives him the best chance of taking over the world... Right?"

"Something like that, yeah." Grix's brain replied.

"So who? The prime minster? President of America?"

"No." His brain replied. "Bill Gates is much more devious than that. He's not going to just walk into power. He wants to take it."

Grix's brain took back his clipboard, and turned it a few pages.

"And if he's going to do that, then he needs to become a God."

Grix looked at the clipboard in horror. "Sniper? He's going to take over Sniper's body?"

"I would, anyway." Grix's brain replied. "I think we're going to find out exactly how dangerous Sniper can be if he had brains."

A chill ran up Grix's imaginary spine.

*author clutches at heart, still in shock that Ant actually contributed to the story...*

;0)

-----------------------

"They're all still alive."

The statement was answer by silence. Disapointment, or just thinking. The man knew that he had to make it seem as if it was the latter, his life was at risk.

"Ok, but they don't suspect you, you say?"

"I don't think so. They seem more to be after Grix, so that should give me cover for a while."

"Mrs Gates won't be pleased to hear this, you know."

"Yeah, well, she'll have to deal with me, won't she?"

Stefan Ramisté turned the phone off, and smoothed back his blond hair. He placed his hand on his head for a moment, and then thought for a second.

He bought up the mobile phone again, and dialed a number.

"Gutan Morgan?"

"Hi..." Stefan said. "I hear you're interested in acquiring one Grix Thraves?"

Stefan heard mumbling on the other side of the line.

"Ya, ve are."

"You can find him at the Pembroke Dockyards at 7:00PM this afternoon."

-------------

Grix stumbled through the forest, jumping logs and fighting through bushes...

He tripped over a log, and fell down into the mud... he wasn't hurt, but he was rather dirty.

He looked up. FM was looking at him, speaking to someone on a mobile phone. He turned off the phone, walked over to him, and offered him a hand to get up.

"Thanks..." Grix said, dusting himself off. "Who were you talking to?"

"Speaking clock." FM lied. "I went for a walk and got lost... where are the others?"

So the group trailed off, without Grix and FM, who had apparently gone off for their own adventures.

*AUTHOR'S NOTE* If there's more than 2 Grix's currently in this story I'm never writing in it again-they always confuse me.

"Humm...do we actually have any idea where we're going?" asked YH.

"Sort of," replied Meka, "er-no's hermit cave is in this direction, I can tell."

"How can you tell that?" Ant asked, baffled.

"Smell."

"Smell?"

"Smell. I can smell his scent."

"Can you smell me?" Venombyte asked.

"Yes, of course."

"Really?"

"Yes, I can smell you Venombyte."

"What do I smell of then?"

"Kellogs Corn Flakes."

"You what?" Venom replied.

"You smell of Kellog's Corn Flakes," Meka said, a little irritated that he was seemingly having to say everything at least 2 times.

"What do I smell of then?" said Ant.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Noooo..."

"You smell of sugar, of course."

"Really?" Ant asked with a laugh. He then shook his head and said, "My, the mysteries of today, eh? Why the hell would I smell like sugar?"

The group sighed, and continued on their journey...

"Where have they gone?"

"They can't just disappear!"

"Well, they.... uh, seem to have done just that."

"Shut up."

"What are we going to do now?"

"Take a bloody roll call. I'm fed up with not knowing who's here. We'll do this list, and stick with it from now on, alright?" There were mumbles of agreement.

"Right, alphabetical order. Ant."

"Here."

"Meka?"

"Yep."

"Sheepy."

"Hungover, but here.... just."

"Sniper."

"Yep."

"Venombyte?"

"Here, but kind of to-ing and fro-ing. Just pretend I'm here all the time."

"YH?" Pause. "YH?..... Oh, that's me. Right, all present and correct. And we'll stick with this, alright?"

"So what shall we do now?"

"Dunno, wiat for someone else to write some more I suppose."

"But maybe they don't write as they don't know what's going on!"

"Good point. Ok, ummmm. Right, Grix and FM have sodded off, so someone else can write about them, but we're going to try and get out of this forest, and we'll fins an old hermit's cave with er-no in. That'll give us some information, and the next author some direction to go in."

"Sorted."

Grix tried to light his lightsaber, but the gas had gone.

"Damn thing." He said, as it kept going

*click*

"Grix, we're only giving you one chance!" Your Honour said, walking towards him.

Grix looked around, looking for help. "Err... where's FM?" Grix asked.

They all looked around. FM had gone.

They looked back. Now Grix had gone.

"Grix, can I, uh, I mean..... can I look through your stuff?" Asked Meka. Grix shifted his weight to the other foot.

"Why?"

"Er.... Well...." Meka stopped and looked into Grix's eyes. "Let me."

"Er, ok, if you want."

Meak wandered over and started rumaging through Grixs bag, the rest looking on, puzzled. After a few minutes, Meka had found nothing.

"You er, looking for this?" Meka turned to face Grix, to see him standing there with a lightsaber. The soft patter of raindrops could be heard as the dark cloouds began to she their load.

"Yes."

"How did you know?"

"I dreamt it."

"What else did you dream?"

"I dreamt ages ago that one in our group would betray us. It mus be you. We set off to stop Bill Gates, well, if you ignore the beggining bit with the boat anyway. Yet we never seemed to get anywhere. You always had us going in the wrong direction, constantly. Why?"

The group were needlessly to say, not impressed.

"We're not impressed." Said one of them. Ant perhaps? Dunno, anyway, it was said, that's the main thing.

The rain started to get harder.

"I think you'd better confess everything Grix, then we can carry on, and stop Mr William Gates."

"Me? Confess everyhting? I'm the one with the lightsaber sunshine, and don't you forget it!"

Meka spoke first. "Well, I'm not that surprised. You WERE very good at it when we were on the Millenium Ant."

"What?" Grix said. "You mean when we were caught by the Death Star, and to escape, we had to pretend that the ship had been infested in mimes?"

"What else would I mean?" Meka said, staring at Grix.

"Oh... err... sorry."

"One thing I don't understand..." Meka asked, "Why were those mimes chasing us? Did you get into trouble with them, or something?"

"Err... yeah." FM scratched his beard. "Don't worry about it, really."

He went back to camp, and sat under Sniper. After a few suspicious glances at each other, Grix and Meka joined them.

-------------

Morning broke.

Meka looked up, and saw a tree had fell in the night. Luckily, it had landed on Sniper's head, and saved everyone.

"Good work Sniper."

Meka walked over to where the tree had broken... odd... it seemed as if it had been sawn...

"What's wrong?" FM asked.

"The tree... here... someone had sawn the tree down."

"Meka tried to kill us all." FM said, taking a step backwards.

"What!!"

The others got up, and saw the tree balancing on Sniper's head.

"Meka!" FM shouted at the group. "He tried to cut the tree down in the middle of the night! He wants us all dead!"

"What the...?" Your Honour gazed at the tree, then at Meka, in shock...

"No! Really, I did nothing!"

"How could you? Meka, after all these years! We thought we could trust you!"

"Meka must be punished." FM said... "Grix, give me your lightsaber."

Grix gave his lightsaber to FM, and Meka backed away... he turned, looking for help. Everyone was against him...

He turned again, and ran into the forest.

"Quick! After him!"

Meka continued to run... jumping logs, fighting through bushes, frantically trying to get away. He jumped another log, but tripped, and landed in a heap on the floor.

He twisted in pain, as he had twisted his ankle. He looked up, and saw everyone around him.

FM turned on the lightsaber, and brought it down on top of him.

----------

"ARGHHHHHH!"

Meka jumped awake, sweating. Everyone else woke up and screamed too.

"Meka? What's wrong?!"

"I had... this nightmare, jese... you were all after me, a tree had..."

Meka looked up. A large tree was balancing on Sniper's head.

"Damn... I'd thought I'd never have to tell this to anyone,"
FM said, resumed. "Ah well, take a seat. It's a long story."

FM thought for a minute.

"Actually, it's not a long story, it can be summed up thusly:

I used to be a mime artist."

Grix and Meka stared in shock.

FM pretended to cry, a dry tear rolling down his cheek. He wiped it with an invisible hanky.

"Are these woods haunted?" Asked Meka.

"Don't think so." Replied Grix

"What was that noise then?"

They turned to see....

Some tress, and everyone cowering under Sniper.
