How about this, you are a child living in Iraq before the war has started. During the night members of the baath party enter your home and they take your father and all your brothers. And you never see any of them again.
Which one of those scenarios is better or more acceptable?
Your original statement was that Iraqis preferred dictators. Its a ridiculous statement with no basis. I think its true to say that they'll struggle with democracy, alot of countries do at first. Yet that doesnt mean they prefer living under the rule of a brutal dictator.
For what its worth I dont think executing Saddam has achieved anything either, yet that wasnt what you originally said.

Except the post was written firmly tounge in cheek (hence the big old smiley after it which i thought made it plainly obvious, guess not though)

Clever. 'I hope all religions are gone except mine', the magnificent line (or variations thereof) that has been the cause of every religious war in history.

How about this, you are living in Iraq after the war has started. A bomb drops on your house and your little brother is killed. How do you feel Garin? I mean, what good has actually come from executing Saddam?
