Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift

Its rubbish really. The story is pathetic and the set pieces are unbelievable (the Japanese Yakuza settling a problem with some punk kid by having a car race? I dont think so), but the only reason you would go to see this film is for the cars anyway and the races all look great. It was as fun to watch as the other two, possibly even better than #2 and there is a nice surprise at the end for fans of the series.

If you are wanting some great acting, a heart wrentching story and some brilliantly detailed drama, then this isnt for you. If you want Japanese girls in short skirts driving customised sports cars then I think you'll love it.

Jeepers Creepers 2 - Naff story but executed in such a way that it's still very watchable. Decent production values and a decent director help.

Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut 7/10

This is the way Superman 2 was originally supposed to be until Richard Donner lost his directorial role. Gone is the slpastick humour and campness leaving a more gritty telling of the tale.
A must for any Superman fan.


Sin City 9/10

This was great. Ive owned it for ages and just never got round to watching it until last night. Better late than never I guess. I didnt really know much about it but it wasnt what I expected. It was very differnent from all the other rubbish thats out these days and kept me entertained right until the end.

The Karen Carpenter Story. Love it <3 10/10

The New World - A massive let down, just couldn't get into the snail-like pace of the whole thing. Could have been fantastic, but fails.

The Wickerman - Not bad, but I felt they could have made this better too. A bit of a Silent Hill feel, but not as good imo.

Dirty Sanchez - Just as you'd expect, Jackass-style craziness, but a bit too 'wrong' for me and nowhere near on the entertainment level of their American inspiration.

The Prestige - This was absolutely fantastic, I regret not going to the cinema to see this, one of those must-see films, for definite.

Hostel 2/10

Terrible film, complete sack of mouldy cat turds, Tarantino and Co I spent 90 mins+ watching that rubbish and I want those minutes back! Gore and horrible death scenes do not make a good film!

Avoid it ...

Return of The Living Dead III - can't seem to make up it's mind what it wants to be. It starts off in a trashy teen horror style then goes all-over the place by losing the trashy/funny element and going into self-mutilation and desperately trying to make you feel something for the characters a la Romero.

With this change it fails in it's lofty aims but the change still does it the world of good as the trashy beginning isn't interesting and the attempts by the film-makers to 'up their game' make it a far better movie after the rather pathetic first half-hour.

Just watched Scarface. Always makes me think twice about becoming a coke baron.

10/10 for its sheer awesomeness of course.

Smoking Aces - 6/10

Entertaining for the most part but tries too hard and the ending seemed rushed. Tries to be like a Guy Ritchie meets Martin Scorcese style affair but ends up trying too hard. Not bad, but not great either.

Severance - 8/10

Quality black comedy/horror/thriller. Really enjoyed it ... predictably over the top at times, but very tongue in cheek and entertaining pretty much from start to finish.

Right at your door - 6/10

Great idea for a film but just got so drawn out and boring around the middle. The twist at the end was too little too late to make up for the yawn inducing 'tense' middle part. Meh.

Next up : Hostel ...

Too bad for you... That was the dullest moment, the rest was great :)
