Post any films you have seen recently (cinema, DVD or TV) along with a short review.

Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift

7/10

Its rubbish really. The story is pathetic and the set pieces are unbelievable (the Japanese Yakuza settling a problem with some punk kid by having a car race? I dont think so), but the only reason you would go to see this film is for the cars anyway and the races all look great. It was as fun to watch as the other two, possibly even better than #2 and there is a nice surprise at the end for fans of the series.

If you are wanting some great acting, a heart wrentching story and some brilliantly detailed drama, then this isnt for you. If you want Japanese girls in short skirts driving customised sports cars then I think you'll love it.

Salt, Starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt and Liev Schreiber as Ted Winter. Jolie playing a CIA Agent, great action film. Her usual acting skills i think really come in to play once again. I wasnt dissapointed by any of the acting in the film what so ever. I was quite impressed. I think it was a pretty well thought out film. Jolie is one great actress who once again played her part well. I think everyone in the film was good to be honest.

CIA Agents, Russian Spies, Destruction,You get to see flashbacks of Salt growing up in the Soviet Union,

Lots of action to keep you gripped.

I thought i would be turning this film off after ten minutes. I just kept getting in to it the more i watched it, Few twists and turns just kept me hooked.

I would easily give this film a 9/10.

I recommend people to watch the film, not everyones cup of tea but not a bad film to say the least.

Watched Galaxy Quest on BBC1 last night, bit of a fantasy theme with actors from a TV show being mistaken for real life alien fighters who are taken to fight for the cause of an alien species but it was OK, even though some of the aliens had silly voices and you could tell the actors playing them could barely speak without laughing!

I agree, The Karate Kid was awful, although I enjoyed it much more than Inception (don't get me started on that again).

Recently I have also seen The A-Team, which was rather good and completely against my expectations. I was also at The Expendables this weekend, if you are expecting to see a throw-back to the 80's action films with a bit of 'Rambo gore' thrown in, you will love it, as I did.

Next up for me is probably Scott Pilgrim vs The World in a couple of weeks.

Have now seen the new Karate Kid movie; what a load of guff that was.

Pretty much identical story to the first movie, but the characters are just so poor compared to Miagi and Daniel. Training pretty much involves hanging a jacket on a peg then dropping it on the floor then repeating, and that's it for most of the film.

What is Hollywoods obsession with using wires in martial arts films to make the moves look as cheap as possible? If you want to make a proper martial arts film, at least get someone that knows how to do martial arts, Will Smith's kid clearly doesn't.

So far as I know it always had the silver top, I may be wrong though. Anyhoo, colour doesn't really matter after an air con vent lands on it's roof eh? :)

Anyway, A-Team was great. Perfect balance of action and plot I thought. It didn't try to be too clever or a parody of the original.

Toy Story 3 was good too, I actually think this is the best one so far. The 3D didn't do much for me though in this case, it's no Avatar as far as the use of 3D goes. Just as well because it means I won't miss the 3D when I get it on Blu-ray.

Hopefully going to see Expendables this week or next and maybe Inception if I can catch it before it goes.

Weren't there several versions of the original van? The first being the gun metal colour above the stripe and the second being black.
