Post any films you have seen recently (cinema, DVD or TV) along with a short review.

Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift

7/10

Its rubbish really. The story is pathetic and the set pieces are unbelievable (the Japanese Yakuza settling a problem with some punk kid by having a car race? I dont think so), but the only reason you would go to see this film is for the cars anyway and the races all look great. It was as fun to watch as the other two, possibly even better than #2 and there is a nice surprise at the end for fans of the series.

If you are wanting some great acting, a heart wrentching story and some brilliantly detailed drama, then this isnt for you. If you want Japanese girls in short skirts driving customised sports cars then I think you'll love it.

Butch, did you ever get round to seeing The Horde ?,if not there is a seller on Playtrade doing it for £3.79 new, that's pretty much the price of a rental.I liked that and would recommend it if your up for a bit of gory Zombie action,it is subtitled though.

Not got around to it yet, but it is certainly on my list. WIth my birthday and Christmas coming up I may very well be the owner of it sooner rather than later at that price! Subtitles have never bothered me, a few of my favourite films are not in English.

Went to see Jackass 3D last night, and I actually really enjoyed it. I thought the 3D element might have been unnecessary, but it did feel like it added to the film. Definitely one to go and see if you enjoyed the series as it is essentially the same thing.

Suppose they could tag a few more people onto the end ?.Isn't there only 3 people joined together in the original film ?,if so then that's only 6 legs which is hardly a centipede is it ?.Was going to watch it the other week but feared it might be a bit rubbish.

Long weekend so a couple to catch up on:

Last Thursday I plumped up for Sky Box Office to see 'The Human Centipede'. Personally, I think the film was relying too much on it's 'sick' premise to be popular (it worked) however, the film itself was pretty dire and probably not something I would rush to see again. I also hear rumours of a sequel, not too sure how much further they can take it...

Last night I also watched 'Night at the Museum' as I missed it when it was at the cinema, I had heard poor reviews for it but it wasn't that bad, in my opinion and was pretty watchable, although not that great. Good for a Monday night with nothing else on though.

I watched Dodgeball: a True underdog story last night. It's on quite a lot as is one of my favourite films because of the comedy within it. I especially love White Goodman at the end of the credits dancing - hilarious

Thought Scott Pilgrim was good fun (Mrs. hated it),didn't think it was as good as Kick Ass though.

pb,the picture on Beauty And The Beast is fantastic as is the 7.1 DTS-HD soundtrack, worth the upgrade IMO.

Tempting, but it's another cost I can't justify at the moment. Upscaled DVD will have to do for now. Maybe a Christmas present?

This is the worst thing about this time of year, so many films coming out on Blu-ray and no money to get them. I guess I won't have much time to watch everything and there may be some decent stuff on TV while I'm on my Christmas break as well, so it's not all bad.

Law Abiding Citizen 6/10

Utterly ludicrous, deeply flawed, inconsistent but quite good fun.

I too really enjoyed Scott Pilgrim... so much so, I saw it twice at the cinema.

Looking forward to owning my own copy later this year.

Will let you guys know what I think of Scott Pilgrim, really been looking forward to seeing it.US disc is not region locked so will play in any Blu Ray player and the box is very pretty ! :)

Nin,I thought Law Abiding Citizen was garbage. It starts off OK then descends on a huge downward spiral until it reaches the point where it's so ridiculous it's actually pretty funny. For some reason a lot of people seem to think it's amazing but I honestly don't know why ? :S

Watched Beauty & The Beast on Blu Ray last night, stunning transfer of a classic film.Read somewhere that it has actually outsold Iron Man 2 in the States !.Just had Scott Pilgrim Vs The World from the US,hoping to watch that tonight as I missed it at the cinema.

Weighing up whether I need Beauty and the Beast on Blu-ray. We got the special 3 disc edition when it was last out and I think that will do us. I don't think there is much more material in the extras than what is already available.

As for Scott Pilgrim, can't wait to see it. I, too, missed it at the cinema, but I won't import it, I'll see if I get an Amazon voucher for Christmas.
