Got this with my Xbox a couple of weeks back only to ignore. For me it just didn't live up to all the hype and after discussing this with Notorious Biggles I though I would go back and give it another go. Well after playing it a second time round I must say its truly...amazing. After getting past where I got to last time (343 Guilty Spark) it was time to take on The Libary. After many people saying it was the worst level in the game I really cant see how. It was the level that introduced the hardcore shooter it is known for.
All those Flood just running at you its immense. At the moment im on the last bit with that massive 3km drive to the ship in a Warthog.
Great is all I can say now I see why its rated so highly.

Fighters Destiny was great, and only the original KI was good.
No Streetfighter II Turbo or Mortal Kombat though.

You probably already know but the release date for Halo 2 has bee delayed in the UK to the 11th instead (a Thursday).

Fighter's Destiny... now there's a crap game! ;-)
and Fighter's Destiny beat it hands down.
and it was about 'as pick up and play'-able as ice from the Arctic.
Fair enough, but Killer Instinct is in no way shallow and boring. It has one of the most in-depth combat systems ever, much better than Virtua Fighter, Tekken and every other 3D beat-'em-up you could think of.
Hardly bothered with the SNES/Megadrive. Console gaming got interesting for me when we got analogue and decent FPS games.
Much happier with my RISC PC, Star Fighter 3000, Stunt Racer 2000, Doom Trilogy, Hexatoms, Angband and other various amazing games of the time.
Made pretty much all console games seem shallow by comparison, except probably RPGs, Mario Kart and good old Zero Tolerance on the megadrive.

Ahahaha. Ever played the SNES Killer Instinct? Best beat-'em-up ever, one of my favourite games ever in fact. I must have spend well over 1,000 hours on it. Seriously.
You'd respect that the N64 version is good if you'd played the SNES one. If you have played the SNES oen and think it's shallow and boring, then you really are an idiot. :-P
