why do people enjoy playing such an un-aesthetically pleasing console like a ps2. i have been thinking this for quite some time and it still baffels me. what are your views on the subject

There is NO good console based flight sim. Crimson Skies is fantastic, but is not a flight sim.
For flight sims you need a PC. I'm hoping that Jane's Strike Fighters or whatever it is called will change that.

If you want to play a flight combat game with real planes then it's Ace Combat or Deadly Skies, in desperation you can say Lethal Skies also.
You can play at trying to trump one console's games against another but it's pretty pointless. Still, carry on...
