why do people enjoy playing such an un-aesthetically pleasing console like a ps2. i have been thinking this for quite some time and it still baffels me. what are your views on the subject

If you're telling me you've found a game for any console with no glitch/bug than you are a genious.
Every game? I can think of many many console games without them...though not PC games.

Every PC and console game come out with bugs and flaws. The only difference is, is that PC's make these simpler to fix.

Everygame has a preview. It doesn't mean it's marketed well does it. I've only seen the Driv3r advert 3 times since it was released.

Same here, not mega bothered about it because it has been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long in coming. The thing is, show me the last major PC game which launched without a raft of bugs/flaws/exploits...do we expect HL2 to be different?

Half Life 2 on the Xbox is not going to be identical to the PC one in terms of content/graphics - simply not possible I'm afraid. not forgetting that the only release date for Half Life 2 on the Xbox is simply "2005" - where we know Sony will be rolling out PS3 for E3, and if MS want, as they have repeatedly stated, to beat Sony to having the first next gen console out, which means Xbox 2 will also be unveiled.

EDIT: As for you supposedly not seeing any Driv3r marketing...you are seriously telling me that, even if you missed the barrage of print, radio, tv and internet adverts, that you never read a preview????? How'd you even know it was coming out????

There's been loads of adverts for Driver 3. Hype always seems to sell games as well and Driver certainly had plenty of that. You just have to look at GT4 Prologue, it was hyped up so loads of people have spent £20 on a demo.

I would have said the PSone opened it up, just the PS2 widened the audience even more. And i see why, it was the most powerful, already had previous console owners to buy it and looked promosing. But, now there's the Xbox and GC, and the PS2 sucks in comparison.

Doesn't everyone already have a DVD player though? Yes. just about. So why does it need to do more than play games? It doesn't. I can see it being a crap console for this reason.
