That's really remarkable, isn't it?
I'm not sure where the idea that as it's as good as a SNES, a bunch of SNES games should be ported onto it!
Mario advance, F-Zero, Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage. All old games available for, or coming to the GBA.
These are the titles that seem to be getting people excited, and I really think that that is very strange indeed.
Yes they were good games, but if there's anything coming to a handheld that people should be excited about it isn't slightly improved versions of games that have been around for the best part of a decade! It's not even a GBA game that I'm looking forward to, but one that will be available for the GameBoy Colour (if they ever get a release over here). What are these games? Zelda: Oracle of Ages, and Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.
Is there not one other person out there that would rather play a new Zelda game than old Mario games? What are you, crazy?
If the only titles that are generating interest for the GBA are the retro titles, then eventually, that's all that you'll get.
The handheld has a lot of promise, but could easily be wasted. Hopefully there will be some games that prove that there can still be originality in the handheld market. Maybe they'll make it a success when they reveal how it will tie in with the Nintendo GAMECUBE. But honestly, if you only want a GBA to play on the games from yesterday, it's cheaper to pick up the consoles and games second hand, or if they're games that you already own, but you can't be bothered to plug in your SNES anymore, why not simply emulate it?
GBA owners, demand originality, demand creativity, and stop handing over your money for old rope.
It could of done with an analog pad instead of a d-pad but for the price it is you mays wll pick up a snes and get suoer mario all stars.
I find it much more amusing when I consider that the majority of the Ninty's who buy the GBA's are the same ones who slate the PS2 and it's sequels.
From the point of view of a SNES owner, why should I buy a GBA? So I can pay exorbitant prices for games I already have, perhaps?
Enough for the moment. I'll let out some more rantings after a GBA owner attempts to defend it ;)
