At first, when rumors started to fly about Xbox buying Nintendo I wasn’t very keen - because after all, it wouldn’t have been the same, would it?
But now, if either Microsoft or Sony bought Nintendo out, and had Nintendo making quality games without having to worry about console sales then everybody would be a winner.
Obviously this won’t happen in the current consoles, and I don't think it will happen in the next wave either, although I would like it to. But it’s bound to happen one day.
Just imagine; a Playstation with Zelda, Jak, Mario, Final Fantasy’s and GTA all on one console.
Or an Xbox with Halo, Ninja Gaiden mixed with some of Nintendo’s laid back classics. In fact - if Microsoft bought Nintendo maybe we could see some Nintendo & Rare calibrations. Donkey Kong Country 2 perhaps?
This is the way forward, I’m inclined to admit. Been stubborn never got anybody anywhere.
Still, i feel that its a subject that should be discussed, so that’s why I posted it - and i think you'll agree - although its not what people want to hear its better than half the crap you get in the forums today.
Exclusives really do make consoles in my eyes, i don’t buy them for 3rd party games. Nintendo exclusives are genrally good - some of the best I’ve seen - but at this moment in time we are having a exclusive drought. Which in a way is multi-meaning - a drought of exclusives, exclusive to Gamecube. That’s why these days people have to have 2 or 3 consoles, because of these droughts. And i just thought, wouldn’t it be lovely if Nintendo and Xbox was a couple now, at this moment in time.
Riddick, Fable, Sudeki, Animal Crossing and Donkey Konga in the space of a few months - that would be good and you have to admit that much.

But these forums - and this thread - is a good example of people sharing views. Not our fault if you're on your own about this one. And just because no one agrees, no need to go into a strop :P
Bygones be Bygones eh?
Just gotta look at both ends of the stick, some people feel more strongly about this I guess.
But then again, if everybody agreed then there wouldn’t be a discussion - I’d just like you to see where I’m coming from. And with PSP vs the DS I’d like to think that Nintendo will win...
Christ, lighten up - I’m not the president of Nintendo and I'm not Japanese; therefore I cannot change anything, and neither can you.

[I] Oh, and i understand that you are exressing your view too - but i think my view is vaild and shouldent be frowned upon thats all.
Sega are lucky to still be around after making huge losses, Activision have been taking risks (which appear to be paying off) in order to stay in the business, and it seems Acclaim are in deep dung too.
The only majorly successful third party is Electronic Arts, whom with high sales are already able to bring games into the £9.99 ranges on PC that were released just over half a year ago whilst they're still selling very well on the consoles in their budget ranges at £19.99.
If Nintendo went third party, it would be the last of great games and the start of their decline.
Nintendo would never, ever be bought out by another company. Mr. Iwata said something along the lines that the day Nintendo stop producing consoles they also leave the computer games industry.
And besides, it just wouldn't be right. Nintendo aren't losing money on each cube sold... and that's always been the same.
They also dominate, and I mean dominate the hand-held market... the profits from that region are astonishing.
I will eat my hat, your hat, everybodys' hat the day Nintendo create games for another console bar their own.
