I've been a fan of Nintendo games ever since the N64 / GBC and I have been pretty loyal since. But i have to admit, I’d now like Nintendo to take the same path as Sega - or something similar.

At first, when rumors started to fly about Xbox buying Nintendo I wasn’t very keen - because after all, it wouldn’t have been the same, would it?

But now, if either Microsoft or Sony bought Nintendo out, and had Nintendo making quality games without having to worry about console sales then everybody would be a winner.

Obviously this won’t happen in the current consoles, and I don't think it will happen in the next wave either, although I would like it to. But it’s bound to happen one day.

Just imagine; a Playstation with Zelda, Jak, Mario, Final Fantasy’s and GTA all on one console.

Or an Xbox with Halo, Ninja Gaiden mixed with some of Nintendo’s laid back classics. In fact - if Microsoft bought Nintendo maybe we could see some Nintendo & Rare calibrations. Donkey Kong Country 2 perhaps?

This is the way forward, I’m inclined to admit. Been stubborn never got anybody anywhere.

Ahahahahaha.
I'm so clever.

I gave up looking cool on a gaming forum over 2 years ago.

If you are fed up with the Nintendo difference then what are you doing here? Go away and play on your first person shooters, which are always somehow exactly the same. I don't give a s*** that you are bored with the Nintendo difference, but that's why everyone should own a Gamecube.

I didn't mean that it technically couldn't handle the games. Xbox could handle any game there is with its power, so I don't see why Nintendo's products would be any different. I was meaning that on the whole the games wouldn't appeal to everyone online while there are better alternatives, which for the general Xbox-owning public, there are. Although Mario Kart is an excellent game and a whole lot of fun, Project Gotham Racing would do better, because it's the kind of game that appeals. Also the host of "mature" golf and tennis games would sell more than the Mario versions of each. Plus Metroid Prime, in direct competition with Halo, would lose out. And aside from this, I can't think of many other Nintendo titles that would work online.

Xbox wouldn't appeal to all ages even if it did have the top Nintendo games available. It's a console aimed at 18 and overs, in really, and a few colourful titles isn't going to change that. The original price, the massive range of FPS titles, and the fact that it's probably got more in common with a PC than with any other games console shows that the Xbox has not been created with anyone younger than 16 in mind.

Ha, CS is rubbish whatever you play it on.

And nothing short of virtual reality could beat a mouse and keyboard for FPS.

Do you realise exactly how sad this makes you look?

I'm bored with the 'Nintendo difference' I had it on the '64, now the 'difference' is infact what I'm used to and bored with. Like I say next console I'll probably swap around again: providing Nintendo get some decent things (HD, dedicated online gaming etc).

Oh right because everyone's intelligent in the same way.

CS isn't crap 'if your clever enough to work out how to' play it properly.

Now stop being a ignorant fool and realise I was offering my opinion and not a fact.

Hedfix I disagree with the X-box pad more suited to FPS's... I agree with Free Radical that the Gamecube's pad is more suited.

As for FPS style gameplay you really are snapping at the wrong heels.

If you are a big fan of shooting games and racing games then by all means get the X-box, it is the best for them.

Yet Nintendo software is very different in terms of style, audience and... well... everything. Bongo style games, GBA link ups, Cel-shading their biggest franchise, the way Nintendo alter the weirdest things...

Pikmin, Pokemon, Mario, Zelda etc... etc... are all games that... well... are so very different from Sony and Microsoft.

It is the Nintendo Difference, if you prefer Microsoft then Nintendo haven't shown you the way properly.

They will.
