I've been a fan of Nintendo games ever since the N64 / GBC and I have been pretty loyal since. But i have to admit, I’d now like Nintendo to take the same path as Sega - or something similar.

At first, when rumors started to fly about Xbox buying Nintendo I wasn’t very keen - because after all, it wouldn’t have been the same, would it?

But now, if either Microsoft or Sony bought Nintendo out, and had Nintendo making quality games without having to worry about console sales then everybody would be a winner.

Obviously this won’t happen in the current consoles, and I don't think it will happen in the next wave either, although I would like it to. But it’s bound to happen one day.

Just imagine; a Playstation with Zelda, Jak, Mario, Final Fantasy’s and GTA all on one console.

Or an Xbox with Halo, Ninja Gaiden mixed with some of Nintendo’s laid back classics. In fact - if Microsoft bought Nintendo maybe we could see some Nintendo & Rare calibrations. Donkey Kong Country 2 perhaps?

This is the way forward, I’m inclined to admit. Been stubborn never got anybody anywhere.

You need to notice that whilst consoles sales fall software sales are on the rise.

Which actually suits Nintendo, the biggest software publisher out of the main 3.

Why? People who own a Gamecube show own it for the Nintendo difference.

Makes sense to me.

And I said that I don't care if it bores YOU... doesn't bore me. If it bores you it begs the question why you own the console.

Hence my point.

The GameCube hasn't flopped.

Nintendo knew from the start it would struggle to compete against the PS2 and therefore has said many times that they're not going to pump money into trying to beat it. However, they're neck and neck with the Xbox which is losing tonnes of money per unit sold (as when the Xbox was £300 it was losing money on each unit sold).

Halo plays like every other FPS after a while...infact, I've never thought it much better than any other FPS I've got on any system. I just enjoy the multiplayer modes.

Right. *reads it back again*

Reads like you're telling everyone to get a cube because it'll bore them. :D
