You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got.
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one, they were gone.
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, Something's out there.
Floating in the summer sky.
99 red balloons go by.
Donkey Konga is set to hit European shores this Christmas, along with Pikmin 2, Paper Mario 2 and Metroid Prime 2. UK gamers are also treated to the long over due release of Animal Crossing and the GBA titles Leaf Green and Fire Red.
Nintendo's childish image may save a potentially bad Christmas. Sony's flagship release is GTA:SA and Microsoft's is of course Halo 2. These are the sequels to the games that single handidly sold the respective consoles. Nintendo are relying on a unique Mario outing and the more hardcore favourite Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. A multiplayer may increase popularity but nit enough to triumph over the 2 AAA titles for the X-box and PS2.
Lucky for Nintendo both the games with Halo 2's online capabilities and GTA 5's horrific content the games are soley aimed at 15 plus (even if it is illegal). The children and parent buying population will turn to Nintendo with Pikmin 2, Donkey Konga, Zelda: Four Swords and Paper Mario 2... games with a very childish appeal.
So Christmas may not be a disaster but who cares? I am not bothered that Mario's paper outing may not impact on the charts. As a Nintendo fan this Christmas is looking like a lot of fun. No real arty games or over the top movie style software... just pure fun. Come Christmas day I'll be beating off to 99 red balloons, turning into paper aeroplanes and controlling 4 little green elves across the screen.
This is why I'm a Nintendo fan

Funny that because it's sitting next to XIII in my Xbox collection.
- no licensed videos,
Maybe not, but it is compatable with ANY music CD.

Then take it in turns singing into the microphone.

Actually, that's doing ok - especially since Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and the nticipation of Four Swords.
And it'd be rather bl**dy hard to see

True - but Singstar on its own doesn't have a camera either. And anyway Singstar came out after Xbox Music Maker - it is bound to expand on the idea.

His nature is informative, and quite intellectual to your rather pitiful banter. You make assumptions which aren't true and keep on trying to make out that everyone else is wrong and you're right. It would be different if that were really the case, but it's not. Grow up.

Said like a person who obviously has no clue whatsoever what Xbox Music Maker was - no licensed videos, only one microphone with no multiplayer capability, in fact it was a commercial flop on par with Nintendo's GBA link to GC idea. And it'd be rather bl**dy hard to see yourself on the screen using Music Maker what with there being NO camera for the Xbox yet.
Plus I'm laughing that Dringo can seriously tell anyone to grow up, given his nature on these forums.

No you were replying to someone who couldn't be arsed to elaborate and figured you'd get what they were saying by indicating Halo 2 would be bigger.
You didn't get it.
THe original had two flaws.
The level design had been rushed - it had some beautiful out door sections of terrain, marred by an over repetitive "indoors".
Also, the multiplayer was fun, but a little sparse and empty.
The best levels demanded more players, and not everyone has 15 local gaming friends with Xbox's to network.
With the basic game engine and design completed, they've had 2 and a half years to focus on game design and networking.
I'm thinking it could well be the best game of the current generation...

I didn't say it wouldn't I hope it had been re-invented.
I'm just saying that just because it's bigger with nicer graphics doesn't mean it's a good sequel. In fact it'd be rather dissapointing.
I was replying to someone who was saying the game is bigger so must be better.
I'm bored with conjecture today.
Obviously it's true for sports games and the like, but platformers, and sometimes FPSs and action games, a tight, innovative sequel is far more enjoyable than one which is simply filled with more options and more polygons.
