i havent got it but have played it at a friends house.
he had the settings turned down, and it looks great, it feels great, and its really not as scary as people are saying.
really when something jumps out at you, you just jump and then laugh as you shotguhn off its head.
its put me in a great mood for the xbox version.
*taps nose*
My original reference to US imports was that the assumption was that anyone with Doom 3 had pirated it, when many people know that some stuff it's well worth importing because you get it cheaper, and before the release. Obviously not so many can do this with console games because less of us have import machines or chipped machines.
Now if Goatboy or Light were genuinelly concerned about pirating, rather than simply seeing this topic as an excuse to contine squablling, they'd have made their feelings clear when El Robin, and countless others, have discussed chipped machines, bucketfuls of copied Xbox games, legal issues on mod chips etc. But strangely we never saw them comment.
Well not that strange really.

Well I'd say your post was the sound of someone who hasn't been on PC gaming forums.
Every pirated download needs at least a no CD patch or keygen, because these are the 2 elements that the download of a game cannot incorporate, hence it's common sense that the illegal downloads must contain one or both of those elements.
As for where to get them, again common sense for most internet users screams "Kazaa", "Bittorrent" etc I was pointing out to the new guy that even those who did know more details wouldn't tell him, because Damarus had made no secret of it that he had downloaded it. If I had downloaded it I would say so because it's not like I'd be the only one and I'd be surprised if ELSPA subsequently battered the door down one morning.

Yep, this is the post of somebody that bought it from a US Ebay seller.
It's obvious.
Hear that?
*scurry scurry scoot scoot*
Sounds like backtracking!
you constantly huffing and puffing about the evils of what

This made me laugh.

Mm, me too; it was like someone's Dad trying to be 'cool'...

Heh. The clue was in the word "worked", which indicates past tense. That and the fact that I've mentioned numerous times I'm no longer in the legal profession. I love when you explicitly prove to one and all that you don't read posts properly; it explains why you keep going off half cocked and make an idiot of yourself.

Mwah ha ha haaaa! I have never, not ever, seen such a desperate attempt to distract from your own hypocrisy. As I've stated throughout my previous post, the lawbreaking aspect isn't what was causing you to become an overweight figure of fun. It was the fact that you brand anyone who breaks a single law as scum, whilst you yourself feel you can break the laws with impunity. At best, you think that you're the only person allowed to have a valid reason for disobeying the law, yet no-one else is allowed any such excuse (hence Timmargh being a "waster", right Bell?)
Okay; my reading of this particular scenario would be as follows; the product we're discussing is an illegal download, is it not? Of course, you're now claiming that you yourself bought a genuine version from ebay. But the initial posting was about your attitude toward the downloading of an illegal copy. You'd said nothing at all about having done so yourself, yet here you are falling over yourself to make it clear that you're not funding evil terrorists with illegal downloads, oh nononononononono, not me, no sirree!
This desperate attempt to try and show yourself to be a good and true law abiding citizen in response to what was nothing more than a dig about your previous intolerant morals and how they square up to your seemingly rather more tolerant attitude to illegal downloads, seems to me to be the product of a guilty conscience.
When one also takes into account your past record (lying repeatedly, claiming "well everyone lies" as an excuse when caught out lying, spraying the stench of your hypocrisy all over your other posts...), it would seem that you've dug yourself a hole you can't get out of. Can you find anyone other than yourself referring to region 1 games? No? Funny that. It's almost as if you've tried to be an evasive little bungworm in order to try and preserve your self-imagined reputation.

No, it isn't. But as that's not what the initial point was about, that would seem entirely irrelevant, wouldn't it?
