Mainly as Machie and I seem to spend half the time on the WLT chatting about Doctor Who...

Here's my current favourites;

Best Classic Episode: Genesis of the Daleks (Tom Baker)

Best Classic Doctor: Late 7th Doctor - when the stories got darker and the character really developed into something more than just a Timelord.

Best DVD: The Invasion

Best New Doctor Who Episode: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday

This is where the theories come in.

The most accepted rumour was that the time war occured outside of time itself, and therefore both Skaro and Gallifrey were destroyed. This is also why the Doctor can't go back and visit the Time Lords, almost like the planets, the Time Lords and the Daleks were wiped out, like they never existed. Which is why the Doctor can't just go back and visit the other Time Lords.

Then again, we saw in Doomsday that the Daleks were actually all concealed in that prison device and were released by the cult of Skaro. The other theory is that the Doctor doesn't want to go back in case he changed the outcome of the war, or because he just thinks the universe should move on. TheDaleks however have no means of getting back to Skaro, as they don't have a TARDIS, and the only way they can transport is through that Temperal Shift, although they have no control over were they are going.

Hope that helps :)

I know I mention this before but it seems like they're stuck in the present day.

Time is not a problem for the Doctor, so he can always travel wherever and whenever he wants. So I would like to see an episode where Davros and the Daleks still exist rather than follow the story of this dalek who's now on his own.

Better yet because he's so home sick why not travel to his home planet. Have they ever explained why he cant do that?

No, I actually think that Allen as Einstein would work. It would tie in with Kylie too, possibly playing a famous historical singer...

Getting famous people to play famous people isn't too bad if they get the right ones. And Christmas Specials are different to the rest of the series anyway, they can have a bit more fun.

As for continuation of the series, I reckon now is the time to bring Davros back. Only one Dalek left, and a need to re-create the heady days of the Dalek Empire, who do you call on? Why, the original creator, of course. After all, last we saw of Davros on TV was his escape from the exploding Dalek mothership in Remembrance.

Come on pb, Woody Allen?

Spend money and time writing better stories instead of trying to write stories that'll suit celebrities.

“Producers are going all out for big names.”

grrr, I give up =(

Peter Pervis, Michael Sheard, Nerys Hughes, Roger Delgado, Peter Sallis, Windsor Davies, Tim Pigott-Smith, Michael Gough, Ingrid Pitt...

Just a few, but I guess some of the names don't mean as much now as they did in the 60-70s.

I'd like to think they didnt appear so frequently in the classic series. Excluding the actors like Martin Clunes who became popular after they starred in Doctor Who.

Billie suprised people, Kyle though she's a strong woman, all I can remember of her acting was in that Street Fighter movie.

Maybe I should face the facts that this is a new Dr Who and has little in common with the old series apart from the Doctor, the Tardis and some aliens. Doesn't mean it's not good, infact at times it's better than the classic series. I suppose this is better than no Doctor Who at all. =)

Who ever heard of a pop singer being any good in Doctor Who? Ahem.

They've always had famous people in Doctor Who, though, from the early days of B&W episodes onwards. It's only in the Eighties they started picking strange ones, but even some of those were inspired (Brian Blessed)

Tell me about it! The only way it could be slightly plausible is if she plays herself, having her as an actor will be rubbish!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
