(i support Xbox by the way)
That is proof enough to me that gamers want new.
Unfortunately, there's a huge amount of *townies who think GTA is the only type of game in existence worth playing.
*I say townies because they were the majority I served when I worked for Game who would buy that type of game. Most other 'groups' were open to other games

This isn't about making comparisons - you asked me what proof I had to show that Nintendo care about their games. Microsoft and Sony aren't games developers, either. MGS and SCEE have so far produced too few major games for their consoles to really care about when they're released, anyway.

Not really. A put down is something you'll find in a biased games magazine. When a company includes criticisms in a powerful speech at a games developer's conference, it's something they actually mean. Nintendo are also not afraid to respect good decisions by other companies - I think Shigeru Miyamoto said he enjoyed playing GTA3.

Hah! How is that pushing the industry forward? Microsoft jumped into the market with bags of cash and the will to dominate. They seek to buy companies out and, like Sony, appear to be working on a technical behemoth for their next console. Nintendo will take the risks in hardware, looking for new ways to play games.
Have to say though the I have not bought an xbox mag in about a year because they were full of anti nintendo crap unfit to be published in what was supposed to be a serious gamese magazine. Just stick to your own console guys do you really think your propoganda will stop anyone from buying a cube.

Ummm Microsoft does that too, im even pretty sure SOny does that on a few occasions(but dont quote me on it)

Its called putting down the oppostion taking a dig, all companies do it to there oponents.

Microsoft are taking risks as well dont you think i mean even entering such a dominant market by Sony and Nintendo, agree?

Well, here's a few points.
Nintendo delay games until they're properly finished. There's no rush to finish games for a specific holiday - they will be released when they're ready. As Shigeru Miyamoto once said, "a delayed game is good eventually; a rushed game is bad forever."
Nintendo are different. They have ideals and beliefs. They believe in these so strongly that they are willing to speak out and make them heard. I'm not talking about David Gosen or idiots like that, I'm thinking of instances such as when they recently condemned Sony and Microsoft for trying to rush their new consoles out when there's plenty of life left in the existing ones.
Nintendo take risks. You can tell they wish to drive the industry forward in innovative ways - they have done in the past and will do so in the future. They look for real improvements in new hardware, rather than spruced up graphics. The DS is an example of this, and the Revolution is supposed to be too. To quote Reggie, "would you rather go down the same road a little faster, or go down a different road entirely?".
Those are just a few reasons.

Yeh man we all know the best producer around, Cadburys....
Yeh anyhows i know what you mean, Sony has the nice shiny packet but it contains nuts and has to be consumed within 48 hours once open.
They pack fudge cakes...
Ok, I'm guessing you can see where this is going :D
