Up for LIVE play this weekend? Haven't been on LIVE in ages and this looks like the only Xbox game that is of any interest this year, for me anyway. Pre-ordered the US version last week and I am really looking forward to it. I thought the first two were average at best but judging from preview/reviews and video footage this looks to be in a compeltely different league.

Compare it to RSC2 and you'll notice it, a lot of people don't like the 30FPS Frame rate, I don't mind it but I'm sure it could have been 60FPS with a little more work.

PGR2 laggy framerate? Never noticed that, it is far more responsive than RSC2, which starts to suck severly in split screen.
I prefer not having any story, it made R: Racing whatever it was even worse.

PGR was swapped for the much superior Morrowind a long time ago.
Far too clinical.
The only reason I have the sequel is because it's online, the online play and custom soundtracks make it worthwhile as a live game BUT only just.
Rallisport Challenge 2 is far more interesting, varied and amusing.
Burnout 3 should be even better, especially as it too accepts custom soundtracks.

If there are a few niggles I have it's the poor 30FPS framerate when you compare it to something like Rallisport 2 it looks like it's laggy as feck, also like you said once it's done it's done, but for some reason I just enjoyed finishing it a lot more than any other game, I've lost count as to how many times I nearly smashed the pad up playing it!
PGR2 was excellent at first, dull as hell though after a couple of weeks in my opinion. It really needed some kind of championship mode or cup mode online and also a bit more variety in the style of tracks.
If the races had more meaning behind them then it would have kept my attention, but it really didn't matter who won after a while.
