THAT is exactly the reason why I hate religion so much.

I'd have to agree with that one.

Sorry for posting the original, but it was needed.

Ant. Halloween is not a celebration of evil at all, quite the opposite. It is a festival to protect against evil. Witches only became part of it later on as early Christian groups in Europe wanted to get people away from Pagen beliefs.

Wizards are creations in books, taken mostly from Warlocks, who are themselves developed on witchcraft.

Witchcraft is an ancient religion based on old Greek beliefs in the earth godess. Witches used to live side by side with Christians, as many other religions do today, but certain Christians, led by the Spanish Inquisition, used them as scapegoats in their ploy to scare the populus into joining a Christian church (Catholic, I'm ashamed to say)

What I'm trying to say is that I know witches and they are not evil, just a different religion based on living from what the earth gives them and using natural medicines.

The pictures of black hatted witches with long noses were used to scare people further and broomsticks are based on something I can't really go into in a family forum!

Sorry to go on, but these things tend to get forgotton as kids are now told so many things about witchcraft. A young girl in a class I taught was bullied due to saying her mother was a witch, the other kids didn't understand. Pity.

It's wierd isn't it...

So many of us from all different backgrounds and we all ended up here.

There are Christians, Asians, Poor people, rich people, people who are small, thin, tall, fat, kind, rude, funny, not in the slighest bit amusing, clever, whitty, friendly...

I think that's great.

LOL, Ha sorry Goatboy... I guess my original post was out of instinct.

Maybe I am seeing things a little differently, but not necessarily the wrong way.

But for starters, there is a funny guy in Harry Potter who's drunk all the time, the whole book is about witchcraft and.... J.K Rowling IS a satanist.

But like you said...

Anyway...

I just want to see people saved. And the way things are going that isn't gonna happen to the scale I want, but...

Well....

Missed that.

That's because I misread it. It turns out that this kid was being racist bullying an Irish kid.

It got him expelled and he fell emotionally down hill.

Killing himself was a bit of a silly thing to do though.

I'd have to agree with that one.

I've read one of the books, and it's nothing special anyway! And it is full of Satan crap, and I reckon it will influence kids. I mean, I hate Halloween. For a start it's a celebration of evil, and kind of goes against what I believe in. And because of these books, we're seeing kids getting OBSESSED with witches, wizards etc.

Racial bullying?

Missed that.

The point is that this person was sent to beyond a normal state of mind, tipped over the edge by the pokemon card, and although it could be labelled as the actual physical cause, it wasn't the mental cause.

You have to die inside first, before you can end your life. Dying inside, and then recovering however, is a very difficult job... but a very intense experience.

I think that it is sick how this Kid could be so materialistic!!!

I suppose the racial bullying might've been more of a problem to him but if he hanged himself because of losing Pokemon cards...

Sheesh!

Yeah I saw this as well Grix, gamecubeplanet yeah? I found it disturbing, worrying and sick that Pokémon cards have brought about the death of a ten year old. He had his life ahead of him and he threw it all away for a for pieces of card with some crappy pictures printed on them. I hope this serves as a awarning to the rest of the world, and to the creators of Pokémon (Was that Nintendo?) it's gone too far.

That is some messed up stuff right there. I have to agree that the Pokemon cards were only a catalyst or the last straw for this kid. If he did what he did just because of a piece of card(hell, it's thick paper), then he is screwed up.

What someone else said about you can get Ł10,000 for tripping over a pavement, you wouldn't be moaning if you tripped over would you?

I have to say that this is a messed up country.
