Me thinks we should all get together on Live and play all the battles from the original trilogy at some point. Not particuarly fussed about the prequels though I would like to kick some Ja Ja Binks ass around the place.
Only 1 week till the game should be in my hands, will hopefully be filling the online gap that the crappy Burnout 3 servers left.
To win, your team needs to grab all the spawnpoints of the other team, or at least what are considered to be the key points. When you take a point, your team will show as green and the enemy as red, you will notice a symbol that represents the team that has the point. As you stay within a certain distance of it, you'll notice the enemy colour drain from it, once that colour runs out, it will fill with your teams colour. Once thats finished, your team will have that point and can respawn from it.
Taking points does not limit the amount of players/troops on the other side, it will just limit the amount of respawn points they have. When vehicles are destroyed, they will also respawn after a short time at their usual respawn point.
Some vehicles and turret positions tend to be neutral. For example, anyone can jump onto a taun-taun. Rebels cannot steal ATATs though and the Imperials can't steal the likes of a Snowspeeder.
Everytime you respwan, you will have a choice of troop you can be. These range from typical laser carrying troops, to rocket launcher troops, to rocket pack troops.
Rocket launchers are good to pick if you're getting hammered by vehicles, but the slow rate of fire means you won't be much competition for a troop with a laser rifle. So it all balances nicely. You don't get to be key characters from the films, just average joe style troops. And of course theres no Jedis in the game. ;-)
Hope this cleared up the majority of it for you guys.
Shame there's no reviews up yet........except for an utterly useless TotalGames one, which gave it 94% but also wasn't a review at all..................bizzarre.
Hmm. Must have review to make certain.
It has some similarities, but it's hardly like the whole capturing points thing was an Unreal 2 first.
The online section sucked ass nearly as badly as the single player though. Only thing I actually like in the game was the flamethrower, other than that it was an unparallelled pile of toss.
I bought the game to play co-op and it is complete shitewash. I mean, how can they release a game where the enemies die a 3 frame death.
I like to see if I'm improving, I likle to feel that the play of the game is actually amounting to something even if it's just some measly stats. It gives me a goal to go for. 100 kills above my deaths? Cool! Let's go for 200! etc. :D
> So it's basically a complete copy of Unreal 2?
Nope, because Unreal 2 sucked much ass.
Oh and it's massive battlefields with over 24 people playing, real wide open things not like the rubbish levels that were in Unreal. There's gonna be a lot more vehicles as well, flying things and god knows what else.
Oh and msot the time you'll want to be in a 3rd person view, though 1st person is available.
It's kinda similiar to Unreal 2 in some ways, but it's gonna be a hell of a lot better than that sh*tfest.
