After the crash, the screen showed a familiar PC boot screen and a Microsoft representative explained that the memory configuration on the floor models was different than that of the final version. This shows XBox is just a disguised PC! Typical eh!

Dont know if you read it but a while back Microsoft had to re-release its firewall software for large companies. Why I hear you ask?? Well it seems they forgot a large section of coding which made the firewall function correctly. This seems to be a problem for Microsoft ( how many times does windows crash for no reason) now they hire hackers to find flaws. Can the programmers not find these. it seems the always rush things to make deadlines insteed of making them as good as they can then bring out updates and charge us"the public" more of our hard earned cash. So no doubt the same will happen to the X-box, the first one won't be good enough so they will have to release a second version and so on.......

Perhaps the problem with your PC is the PC itself (or the idiot who built it) and not the operating system.

The PC I'm using to type this message has been on since November of last year, 24/7, and has never crashed, or shown the blue screen in anyway at all.

It is connected to the internet via a Broadband modem, I play Unreal Tournament for a couple of hours every other day, I surf the net and use the PC to run an online business. NO PROBLEMS EVER. Now that is a stable O/S.

But I bet you're running Linux or Win NT.

The fact is, expecting a PC to crash after a few days is just not on. Linux servers (which are basically PCs with a huge Net connection) are left on for years, and I mean years. I bet the Google, Yahoo or Freeola servers have been on for at least a year, because if you turn them off the server goes down. Therefore, they have to be on 24/7 and that's one of the main reasons Linux is so popular.

That and it's got a penguin as a mascot!!!
