But now back on good terms with Ninty, can Square still pull it out of the bag. Crystal Chronicles was pretty good, but the repetative gameplay, poor battle system and annoying multiplayer setup left me slightly dissapointed.
FF 1-2 Dawn of Souls is schedlued for December, and there are rumours of a FF 7,8 and 9 package on the 'Cube, whilst Square have confirmed a handful of titles for the DS, including a Mana and Crystal Chronicles series.
But with games like Fable, Jade Empire and Paper Mario 2 coming out very soon, are Square still the kings of RPG and can they still produce the quality games they once did for the SNES and PSone?
However, let's be honest, they need to do it :)
But an online Pokemon game would easily compete and surpass the likes of Halo online.
Truth be told though it would be a very ambitious project. I just hope Nintendo do it.
Along with the other games mentioned by Dringo, this will keep Nintendo at their rightful first place in online and offline gaming.

I thought they had added online with the DS? And they pretty much have to go online with the Revolution, if not at the beginning pretty shortly afterwards. Nintendo are always working on it.
As for Pokemon not working in 3D I'm not sure what you mean.
There are hundreds of RPG's out there where you wonder around caves and grassy areas to end up fighting random generated battles. Pokemon could do that with the added bonus of capturing the creatures. In fact it would be like most RPG's, accept the feeling of isolation many create isn't there... especially with the amount of towns.
Also there was a 3D Pokemon RPG featured in the recent Pokemon Colloseum. Admittidly a small one. So we all know it could work.
Just because Nintendo have released 10 games that are in 2D doesn't mean you can't imagine it in 3D. Metroid is a prime example.
It won't just be a simple case of changing the dimension, the game will take on a totally new personality. Like Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time and Metroid Prime before it.
Pokemonline will be the ultimate RPG, couple it with Animal Crossing and you can imagine Nintendo ruling the online roost. Mario Kart, Wario Ware, Smash Brothers and Mario Party will ensure that the success of Nintendo's online mode will reep finacial gain. Even if the huge RPG's don't do as well.
Diamond is confirmed.
And why don't you think Pokemon would work in 3D.
Imagine it as an online game, meeting people across one of many massive lands, collecting badges and fighting other REAL trainers and computer controlled trainers on the way. Take part in competitons etc...
Would rule.
Pokemonline.
