England squad:

Michael Vaughan (captain)
James Anderson
Ian Bell
Paul Collingwood
Andrew Flintoff
Ashley Giles
Stephen Harmison
Matthew Hoggard
Geraint Jones
Simon Jones
Kevin Pietersen
Andrew Strauss
Marcus Trescothick

Get fit soon Simon Jones!

Hopefully England will still be attacking and go for the win rather than defend to try and get a draw, I think they're more likely to succeed this way.

England win the toss and choose to bat first...

...and so it begins!

If you're refering to "gooder", I know it isn't a word, but as long as you get the point I was making, everyone wins.

The Aussies have received a boost with the news Glen McGrath is back in the squad.

The weather may play a part in the match but it's unlikely to have much impact. Thursday is supposed to be rainless all day but Friday should be interrupted for most of the day with showers. At the minute Saturday - Monday are a bit uncertain but it looks like it should be ok so we should get a result, hopefully a draw or an England win!

Anderson is prettier and therefore should play.

I'm confused by this. Pietersen's first Test series was this one - He has no experience in big matches like these, but he did extremely well, putting on 60 odd in his first innings. Apart from the six catches he dropped, he has had a solid start.

Australia have to win the last Test match to retain the Ashes, to me logically, this means that batsmen are more important than wickets, as they would have to bowl us out and get more runs. If a bowler came into the team, he may get some wickets, but get out or not make any runs - England need all the runs they can get.

I strongly disagree. He has been bowling all over the place on recent form, especially in 20/20 cricket, he is no where near accurate or consistant enough to bowl in a Test match.

out of collingwood and anderson, anderson should play, he has improved vastly since the tour of south africa, and is very good at dismissing the tailenders like lee and warne, an attribute lacking from most of the england bowlers, he also has big match test experience, which counts, as you can see from pietersens start for england.Bringing in someone in the last match of the ashes for his debut when you're 2-1 up is a big risk, however I think collingwood or anderson would do well for england. Anderson should play over collingwood, but Andy caddick should be playing.
