The Unreal engine is being written to run on graphics cards today, not on future cards with a unified shader architecture.
Means the 360 should be compatible with the Windows Graphics Foundation when it replaces Direct3D.

They were just reporting what the inquirer said.
All I lifted from the article is that the PS3 doesn't have a unified shader architecture, which makes it behind the times before it's even released and puts the 360 ahead of PC technology for about a year.

I'm all for XBOX 360, but if anyone thinks it'll be more powerful than the PS3, they're having a laugh. I say so to wind-up a SONY-addict mate of mine (not on SR), but in all seriousness, the PS3 will probably have the edge.
Six to one and half a dozen to the other, I say.

Try and tell this to WookieMonster. I was saying it in the Sony forum a while ago and all he had to say was "but they converted the Unreal engine to PS3 really easily!!!". It was always gonna be like that, anyway. I mean, what PC has 7 arrayed CPUs? It would be a monster to convert PC games to the PS3, unless Sony came up with some fantastic middleware that did all the legwork itself.
Another Sony award winner has to be the D-pad on the PS1 controller. Many memories of people showing me their thumb on their left hand with skin peeling off, due to playing Toshinden for more than 10 minutes.
When it comes to D-pads though, I don't think any-sodding-one has managed to make a decent one since the SNES pad. Sony want to give you blisters, Microsoft want you to explode in a hail of swearing from frustration with a lack of control and Nintendo decide for some reason best known to themselves, that only a person whose the physical size of a foetus deserves to use theirs.
Those discs are still reigning champion of crap design in my opinion.
although Sega would probably rule the world.
Microsoft: "Lets really focus on customisation and allow players to personalise their gaming experience !"
Sony: "Hope Rockstar have another GTA game planned....."
Nintendo: "Lets make the DS interactive in new ways with a touchpad !"
Sony: "Lets shove a PS2 into a smaller piece of plastic and put PS2 games on smaller discs, but change the names of the titles a little so people think their buying something new.... And for the biggest mugs, lets release films on those little discs that the idiots can buy on normal DVD for a quarter of the price !"
Anyway, as for your hope for Pro Evo - its looking good cause Konami are developing games for the 360 and I doubt they'd leave out a title as big as that one.
