Internet connection in campus rooms at York, yay or nay? Also what speed is it? I've heard rumors that the only connection available is dial-up and only in a few rooms? Surely not? There is some mention to connection to the web through the York network, I'm assuming this is the connection most people used while in halls?

I mean iron nails, not the ones you get redone at the salon every week.

What, never eaten cornflakes with a knife and a chopstick? You're obviously not nails like I am.

Doesn't stop at Uni either. I had a full set of cutlery (6 of everything) about 6 months ago. Now I'd be lucky to find just 1 of each, and if I do you can bet they're not washed...

Yeah, tho i'd probably be buying a new set of stuff. Seriously the knives in our house couldnt cause an emo kid to bleed.

Tho breakfast is provided in the morning, so I wont be in too much trouble :P

I'd take more than 1 of most stuff, because I'm sure some of it'll go missing, and there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning and having no spoons. Seriously.

Nah, it's not too bad, don't worry about it. A little stroll in the morning isn't really the worst of all things. No worries, you'll be fine. I've only known one person from there and she was British.

As for utensils, I have no idea about Fairfax. Maybe there's a cutlery factory beneath it, but in James we got nothing except the fridge, freezer and cooker. Pans, colander, knives etc - you bring those and hope no-one steals them.

Last question I suppose. It's self catering isnt it? I know Vanbrugh has it's own dining hall and whatnot, but what in the way of utensils will be provided?
