Another thread on Mikey, true. But I have to keep my hopes up. Losing my favourite 'Pool striker is a blow that can only be softened with the return of the only 'Pool player I have loved more than him. Mikey is on his way back - that's what The Times seems to think:

Read that in my paper this morning before my run, and then amused myself by thinking of Mikey while running (not in a gay way).

Cisse ain't goin nowhere! Houllier confirmed this today as did Rafa.

Oh and I think Flo is being groomed for a slot in right midfield.

And Mellor's a better striker than Flo-Flo, I shall stick to this. He's good in the air and has a cracker of a shot on him. Flo-Flo looks quite pretty when he does his tricks and then there's no end product. I prefer Le Tallec to both of them, mind.

Not that Mellor or Flo-Flo will feature in anything but the Carling Cup.

Morientes isn't better than Cisse. Cisse isn't better than Owen. Crouch isn't better than anyone.

At the moment:

Mikey>Cisse>Baros>Morientes>Mellor>Flo-Flo>Crouch

I'd actually say Cisse is better than Morientes, but whether he'll partner Owen well enough remains to be seen.

On a related note, Olympique Lyonnais (the full-name is much nicer to say than just "Lyons") have apparently enquired about Cisse, and offered £8.5M for Baros. Add this to their public interest in Owen, and it seems as if Houllier wants a big happy striker reunion.
