Welcome to Sports Longest Thread

The sports forum is a great place to be but doesn't have much going on all the time, plus every other forum has one so why can't we?

Maybe with all the replies things will look much more popular

Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest footbal match, to the next Olympic games, or even just the usual chat that happens all over.

If anyone else tries to copy this you will fail miserably and i will be forced to laugh at you.

Oh and no spaming or text talk its not liked by anyone and it isn't funny to spam.

That's my view too. I don't think the Madrid move was the best one for him though. He should've stayed in England.

Real Madrid must have seen your posts before buying him and when the doctor said he can't pass the medical the manager came in and said Stryke knows best.

How much was he again? i think it was 13million (they must have thought he is young and won't ever get another injury)

I maintain my official party line that I have always preached in this forum:

Woodgate is the best English centre-back when fully fit

That is if woodgate doesn't get injured playing with U15s in Real Madrid U15s team. He will be playing there for awhile then might get moved into the youth team then the reserves then if he survives injuries he might get his first real madrid game and play the full 90mins then if he can carry on and not pick up injuries he might get chosen.

Problem with dropping Beckham is his replacement would be Chelsea bench-warmer SWP, who's even more attacking than him. Lamps and Gerrard can only play together in the Stryke XI (a formation of sheer genius, I must admit):

Carson
Gary-Terry-Woodgate-Cole
Hargreaves-Gerrard-Lampard
Rooney/SWP-Owen-Joe Cole/SWP

A team of such superiority, a team that exudes pure Carsonicity in every pass, a team that could conquer the world.

I think the main problem we face is that we have too many players guarenteed a place. Paul Merson said it, "You use to go into pubs and you'd find 100 blokes all with different England teams. You don't get that anymore, everyone in the country knows what Sven's starting XI will be next year" and I agree with him. The fact is that because Gerrard & Lampard both deserve an England place and because Beckham's the captain we simply have a team that's just too attacking, leaving us incredibly vunerable. What needs to be done is for us to not fit the formation around the players we have but the players around the formation. Lampard & Gerrard can't play together with no one holding behind them and if that's done then we're left with a very closed and pretty defensive setup. So, one of them needs to go and can come on to replace the other. I don't know why that hasn't been suggested. Imagine it, 60 mins in, the opposition are starting to tire, off comes Gerrard to be replaced by... Lampard. He'd wreak havoc among a tired defence with his foraging runs and passing ability.

Alternatively Beckham could simply be dropped. He's not been at his best internationally for a while now and a short sharp shock like that could kick him into gear.

Crespo was there, he got injured before the end. So did Saviola.

Edit: And Kily Gonzalez doesn't make the team anymore, you know that. He's useless since he left Valencia.

Everyone else didnt go...

Crespo, Ayala, Kily Gonzalez and Luis Gonzalez.

The main reason he didnt go was becasue of the Libertadores cup!
