The sports forum is a great place to be but doesn't have much going on all the time, plus every other forum has one so why can't we?
Maybe with all the replies things will look much more popular
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest footbal match, to the next Olympic games, or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
If anyone else tries to copy this you will fail miserably and i will be forced to laugh at you.
Oh and no spaming or text talk its not liked by anyone and it isn't funny to spam.

Ooh, he's so established. Been around the team for a year, didn't even go to the Confederations Cup ('Waaaah, doesn't mean anything' 'So why did everyone else go? He wasn't injured') and he's got a lot of competition. Plsu he's playing in South America, and will be doing so for ages because Corinthians can pay a lot these days.
"Mum, I won the Copas Libratore (however you spell it)!"
"So? Go to Europe."

Potential? yeah...being an established international is really "potential"
, Cambiasso you just like because he's Argentinian and

Midfielders dont have to do both jobs...Makelele and Emerson both won thier domestic leagues.
The real beauty of something like that, though, is how flexible it is. Should we want more options in the box, it can be so easily changed to a 4-4-2 system, or if we wanted to swamp the midfield then Rooney and Wright-Phillips could fall back and we'd have a 4-5-1 formation.

Then again that could be too defensive with only 1 up front.

We'll see who has the last laugh.
Honestly, all we want is a holding role midfielder just behind them and that partnership would be superb. If Chelsea had bought Gerrard then he would have replaced Gudjonsen alongside Lampard with Makelele behind.
We just have to find that midfield player. Beckham, as I have said, could play there if he finds it so hard to stay on the right, but while his passing is up to scratch his tackling might not be. Mourinho believed Parker was good enough to succeed Makelele, so it could be him, Hargreaves was one of few who actually looked quite good last night and, as Stryke says, will be getting regular Champions League football, and then there's the options of Carrick, Jenas or even Alan Smith.
Rooney will naturally take up a wide position on either the left or right given that he will play there for the entire season at Man Utd, and then there's the option of Joe Cole/SWP/Downing/Beckham on the other flank just outside of Michael Owen in the centre.
We'd get mixed results, but only because Lamps scored goals last season. Stevie has an equally good shot, is faster, more athletic, can tackle better, is a true box-to-box midfielder and his passes are equal to Beckham in his prime.
Yeah, I'm probably biased because he's a 'Pool player, but I'm fairly sure I'd be saying the same thing if he'd have gone to Chelsea. If one has to go, it should be Lampard.
But he's the 2nd best midfielder in England by a long way, so dropping him for someone average like Parker would be an insult. Hargreaves or nothing.
The Gerrerd/Lampard Combo does not seem to be work because they are too similer where as for club, Chelsea have Makelele who works as a perfect foil for Lampard.
Once an attaker runs behind Gerrard and Lamprd, one of them is chasing back all the time because they both like to run up and down the field, im surprised they haven't bumped into each other!
We need someone like Parker/Carrick/Butt in there to break up attacks and let Gerrard/Lampard do what they do best.

Oh, you're so Argentinian. You can smell the South American in your posts. What, did you get a postcard from there once or something? Always annoys me when people ponce about supporting a different country than they're from.
Anyway, Steven Gerrard is the finest central midfielder in the world. Mascherano is poncing about at Corinthians and the word here is 'potential', Cambiasso you just like because he's Argentinian and Makelele/Emerson offer no attacking threat whatsoever.
He can tackle brilliantly - you don't usually see it in his very attacking role for Liverpool, but this quality was truly evident when he took up the role of right-back in ET at the Ataturk in May. Whatsmore, his work rate is second to none, he's one of the best passers in the game and he has the speed and stamina to play well there.
If Beckham truly wants to play inside as he so often seems to demonstrate, then you could play him alongside Lampard with Gerrard behind - or vice versa (Lampard won't play a holding role). Then you'd have Owen up front with two outside forwards, Rooney and Joe Cole.
But if Scott Parker or Owen Hargreaves truly shine this season then you could scrap Beckham, and play one of these two behind Stevie and Lamps, giving them freedom to attack.
However it ends up, I agree we need that defensive midfield player but neither Gerrard nor Lampard can be dropped.
