When I tried to buy GTA it was obvious I wasn't 18! I think i was about 13 at the time, i'd never been turned down before, but that guy had the right idea, he wasn't going to be the reason i turned out to be a maniac! the age restrictions are there for a reason, I remeber when i was a kid, if i'd watched terminator when I was 8 I would'nt have been able to get back to sleep, but since i'm a lot older, I can handle it.....and so on. Just because you can't buy it from a shop, Sr will sell it to you! :D they gave me perfect dark, thats an 18! he he. i'm still a young lad.

age restrictions never used to be a problem as they used to be just guide lines ( I think)
now a lot of games have to get an official game rating by the same people who age rate the films.

You Should Have Some Kind Of Consent Form For If Your Parents Don't Care. Mine Are Getting Really Annoyed At Buying 18 Rated Games And DVD's Because The Shops Won't Sell Them To Me.

Personally, my mum just says : "if it scares the $h1t out of you it's your own fault"
which works but I do hate age restrictions as when i went out to buy pd i couldn't so i had to go home (2 miles there and 2 miles back)
but i suppose i've NEVER been scared of something past my age restriction, I've jumped in my seat but i've never had nightmares about it
because of the following reasons:
1. as a child my mum/dad/brother would watch horror films with me in the same room (At 6 years old I saw BRAINDEAD)
2. I know it's NOT REAL, most of the stuff is too far-fetched anyway

theres no point in age restrictions because nobody follows them. some parents just buy the game for their children, ignoring what age it is for.

I think that all age restrictions should be recommended ages. It really cheeses me off when I go into a shop like EB(theyr'e very cautios about restrictions) and get told that I am to young. I am 14. Do they think I am going to have nightmares?!? For heaven sakes, cause not!!!!!! Get rid of age limits on games, videos and DVD's, especially porn DVD's.
