Except for that stupid water gun that couldn't fire 1ft. But that's a different story...

Hopefully I'll be able to get hold of some tickets for that. I'd love to see Killswitch again.
I'm not too bothered about about FFAF, saw them a few weeks ago in Birmingham. They're alright but they aren't anything special by any means.
Thirdly, at one point

That's the magazines faults. They're about as thrash as Emperor are rap...
Stargazer, Light in the Black, Gates of Babylon, Lady of the Lake, Tarot Woman are my favourite epics.
Not really "metal" though is it.

Woo hoo! Deep Purple are mentioned!
D.P. are really the band that got me into rock. Tracks like Ted the Mechanic and Black Night are pure classics. NOT Smoke on the Water! That song is just boring now. AND Speed King is by far the best intro ever. Full Stop.

Dude beleive it or not, they were worse. Although that may have just been because I had a worse experience. First of all, I had some idiot in my ear the whole time who really bugged me and wouldn't shut up who clearly like Funeral For a Friend but thought it would be 'uncool' to admit to it. Secondly, the only redeeming feature about them when they opened for Maiden was their long haired guitarist who was actually pretty kool. But at Download he'd cut his hair so he just looked like a pudgy fat man holding a guitar. Thirdly, at one point the singer screamed 'we got some thrash mtal for you now!'. So you know, I thought they might actually be attempting to cover something half decent. But no, instead they started playing one of their own songs which sounds like every other one of their own songs and wasn't thrash metal at all. And then finally, I was still kinda kidding myself that Maiden were gonna play and going through various scenarios in my head like the curtain on the right falling down revealing Adrian Smith who instantly starts the Wicker Man intro, or Eddie comin out on stage and brutally killing Funeral. But alas, it was not to be. They sucked man.
That's the second time I've had to

Hahahah, I know, they were awful.
They can't still be as bad as they were when they were supporting Maiden though?
Best band ever though.
Except maybe Deep Purple, they're good too, but not "metal", they're "hard rock" even though they're more metal than Zeppelin.
Yeah, OK, whatever.
