Ross Kemp was fantastic. I always thought he'd be the sort to take himself too seriously, but his part in this tonight was excellent. Also, Barry from Eastenders cameo was superb.

Tonight's episode was brilliant, I actually rather like Kate Winslet now, after watching that.

well I'm glad we're all in agreement then, Extras is an instant classic and just as good as The Office. Thought I bet you laughed more in Extras than the Office.

Nope, I agree with you, Mav.

I'm loving it and it is no doubt one of the best things on TV at the moment, but it's over-hyped because it's Gervais.

It's good original comedy, but it's not on the same level as The Office.

I don't want to take anything away from Extras - I'm really enjoying it. It is similar to The Office, inevitably, but it does have differences and, as you say, having guest stars perform a caricature of themselves is one of its original and excellent aspects.

It just can't really be compared to The Office after only three episodes, and some of the reasons Pringles is giving are ridiculous.

Also he is nothing like David Brent, okay sometimes they say the exact same thing but their personalities couldnt be more different.

I've only seen tonight's episode of Extras, though according to most people it was the best so far, but I'd happily say that The Office was better.

so you're saying The Office is a tiny bit better than Extras?

But why is it better? You'll heartily say that the majority of the forum are with you on this (with no proof, might I add), but all you're saying is "oh yeah, definitely. all that writing and directing - much better". You say:

Have you even seen it? One of the most impressive things about it was how apt an observation it was of real life and how familiar the situations were that it presented.

Still, I'd much rather watch my Blackadder repeats than The Office or Extras.
