Is Crouchy worth £7m?
I rate him as a player and he's proved that he can score goals in the Premiership but... Dunno. I'm not sure he's proved himself fully enough to justify Liverpool spending £7m on adding another striker to their ranks.

If Crouch wasn't like 9ft tall, he'd be playing far further down the football league. I reckon for every three inches you could shave off Crouch he'd lose a league's worth of quality.

Remember Emile 'Bruno' Heskey banged in 15-20 goals one season...never quite hit those heights again though! Peter Crouch is a good player...but thats about it!
He's clearly better than he looks, but is he an international player? No!

Its only cause he is english, and now has an international cap that he cost so much...No wonder 'arry was clambering to get him called up throughout the 2nd half of the season! Its all extra money he can spend on jellied eels!

Andy Johnson is a quality player... not sure I rate him higher than crouch.

Well, if rumours are true then, since his transfer request, Palace would accept an offer in the region of £7m for Andy Johnson who I personally rate more highly than Crouch but don't like as much.

He gives Rafa another option upfront, he's got good quick feet for someone so tall, however I think 'Pool could have used the £7 mill they forked out much better. Southampton must be laughing.

The thing about Peter Crouch is that I actually like him and do want to see him succeed. Maybe it's because he's a big, lolloping, gawkish lanky streak-of-pess and people always fall for the underdog but I can see him turning into a cult figure at Anfield. Maybe.
There's no doubting his Premiership pedigree, banging in 16 goals is no mean feat (as proved by 13-goal Baros and the rest of our strikers last season), particularly for the team that eventually finished bottom. I suppose there's just a bit of a stigma attatched to recruiting someone who played for technically the worst side in the league. In Rafa we trust.

I mean, he's going ot be a benchwarmer a fair amount I'd imagine. But yeah, last season he scored goals, and showed a fair amount of intelligence in his forward play, and he's still relatively young.
I'd like to see him do well, but I'm not sure. Especially as it seems that Baros is being cast aside to make room.
