Exactly my thoughts. I always say Luke/Vader in Jedi is the best fight in the whole saga, and when I re-watched it the other day with The Wal (for about the 1000th time) I noticed it only lasts a few precious seconds.
Bit of a scrap, talking, more scrapping, more talking, Luke goes bananas and, in one of film's best moments, takes Vader down. In what could only be a dozen or so moves they round up the entire trilogy - Luke uses his rage to defeat Vader, almost falling to the dark side, but then stops himself and says no to the emperor.
Take Anakin/Windu with their 10,000 choreographed moves and super CGI lightsabres. Boring. Even Anakin/Obi Wan, meant to be the longest action sequence in film history with 10 million moves, was a pile of steaming sheet. Maybe it was the failure of the first two films but I just didn't care that two friends were trying to hack each other to bits.
I was shocked when Maul bought it in Phantom Menace, I thought he was the Vader of the new trilogy, or at least as close as they could get. I knew while watching it the fight, while pretty to look at, had no real meaning.
OK, rant over. The prequels do indeed suck. Knights of the Old Republic was more Star Warsy than all three put together.
And there was no righteous sarcasm in the first place.
I don't particularly see why you're so vehemently defending yourself in such an aggressive manner when I was merely asking in the first place.
But indeed, I do remember you saying you'd never watch it at all, regardless of money.
Perhaps I'm wrong.
Who knows! It's only the internet!
My my, somebody's got a stick up their ass haven't they?
Because the CGI is 100ft across doesn't make it anymore impressive.
Unless you like colouring books and rusks.
So sorry to steal your righteous sarcasm by actually sticking to my word and not paying to watch those films.
But feel free to try and pick other reasons to be mardy.
With surround sound etc that adds unfathomable amounts to the movie and its atmosphere?
Didnt pay a red cent to watch Episode 2 or 3
