Have you ever heard of anything so daft. At my sons school they have recently introduced a new rule, where by the pupils have to keep there top button done up and there shirts tucked in and have to wear ties up to there necks through the summer months, are they insane. They have all been given these pieces of card with spaces for teachers to sign the card if there uniform is not up to scratch and when they get 4 signitures they get an after school detention. They also can spot check and have a look at the card at any time, plus if the kids forget to take the card or lose it they will end up in a lunch time detention, because there is no proof that they have any signitures on it or not. The school says this new rule is to show pupils how to dress for when they have to go to work. As i work for a big company you do not have to wear ties during the summer months and at no time at all do we have to have our top buttons done up. It has caused big arguments with the school since the rule has been introduced and the school says they are not going to change the rule. What do you guys think?

Heh, I remember back when they made me wear uniforms. If it weren't for the card BS I'd suggest to wear the uniform in a way that fits your son's style but that's out of the question eh...

I remember I use to show as much cleavage as possible in that gay little collared shirt. I hated it to death.

I had that at school, but it seemed to vanish into thin air after a couple of months.
The older the kids get, the more laid-back the teachers seem to become and it'll probably only really stick with the younger kids.

I am not going to be quiet, try and make me. They have got to wear the blazers aswell, but i bet you do not have the card business where it gets signed and you get after school detentions.

Be quiet.

We have all of that + blazers... Which still have to been worn in this sweltering heat.

I still reckon it's a great idea... just think how daft we'd look at college and Uni if we never knew how to dress smart!

Because the schools in the area where i live do not have rules like this you should see how untidy some kids round here are! The kids just don't like the rule so why bring it in. They have already had sit down protests what are they going to next i wonder.

My school has those rules except for the signing a piece of card. I don't really see the problem to be honest.
