The new Download Of The Day page under joint control of whoever is in charge, for now thats myself(Flock) and obviously more importantly, Asher. I'm just updating it, he's in charge, because he rocks.
We want a group of people who can recommend one track a day which
hopefully people will listen to and pass judgement on. The idea is
just to introduce people to new music.

If i'm going to be taking control of this for a little while, I expect everyone to take responsibility for their songs and post up a yousendit link or something similar up on the day of their song. I don't have the capabilities to download everything super-quickly like Flock does and put it up, so it's up to you. If you want you're song to get a fair few listeners it's advised that you do this, but if you don't want to then that's fine.
Preferably at least a day in advance so I have time to edit the post each day.

That's our idea blown. Lord help you, you'll all have to *gasp* download the songs yourselves! What is the world coming to, etc etc.

I like the idea of having links to places where you can just listen to the file, click the link and it launches media player and the track.

Would zipping it up and giving it a completely different name like fhsdjfhw48w4.rar with the mp3 inside make it any better?! With password protection?! [which probably won't make a difference..]
Maybe you could just get a free site, make a poop phpbb forum there and just put the links there rather than on here, but still use sendit.
Or send out e-mails to all who are doing the D.O.T.D, assuming they're willing to give out e-mail addy's, with links to the mp3.

Anyone got a link to a site that i can host music files on but you can't download from. I've seen people put them up on here before but i've got no idea how to do it myself.

Any link that ends in .mp3 is a direct link, and we really can't have any links to torrent sites or warez sites etc.

No direct downloads to any copyrighted music files please. It's most definitely illegal and as such we can't have it here.
