I've got the demo but it simply doesn't start. I've since installed the supplied drivers (77.30) but that didn't fix the problem either. The desktop resolution is 1024x768 at 32bit colours by the way. Direct X 9c is installed, graphics card a 6600GT, onboard sound with the A8N-SLI board and an Athlon 64 3800+ processor.

Probably yea I have a 9800 non pro which I can get up to 9800 pro speeds but I don't want to use it so I use something close to it, what's the point in me having a 9600XT 256mb which is slower?

weird.

Looks like they double the memory, but I bet the 128MB PCIE version is still faster.

I swear the X700 is a PCIE only card. I thought that's what the X stood for.

PCI-E or AGP version?

Edit: Basically its down to a X700Pro or 9600 XT. I'm not sure how much I should be paying for each, or which is technically the best. Any help is appreciated. Now to go find why i cant play it on my current setup...

Any idea how he's got it set up? My VPU-recover keeps quitting the game before the main menu... I'll look for him around...

I've got a X700 PRO and it's really good. Can run HL2 on full settings, I ain't tried BF 2 on full yet but it has never let me down, well worth a buy if you can't fork out too much for a top-end card.
