I've got the demo but it simply doesn't start. I've since installed the supplied drivers (77.30) but that didn't fix the problem either. The desktop resolution is 1024x768 at 32bit colours by the way. Direct X 9c is installed, graphics card a 6600GT, onboard sound with the A8N-SLI board and an Athlon 64 3800+ processor.

Oh Yeah!!! I managed to get it working. Tweaked my AGP settings down to 4x and forced BF2 to run at that speed, and it worked fine. Just tweaked the GFX settings up now, and whilst it doesnt look amazing, it still looks pretty damn good, and runs like a dream, exept for some lagfests, which are to be expected...

That'd be GeForce 4 wouldn't it?

My sister has my old Ti4600.

Are any of you trying to run it using a 4xxx series nvidia card? if so it won't work straight off, but there is a fix.

I'll post it if anyone needs it.

Have finally finished downloaded BF2 demo after 6 long hours, tried to extract it, and wont go any further than 0%, then comes up with an error saying the file is corrupt.
Why is this, please say there is a way to fix it, i dont especially want to download it all over again.

Also says something about a CRC error.

FWIW, the new chipsets for Nv & ATi are out next month (NV70, R520) which will see a drop in price on the current set of cards right up to the non CrossFire enabled X8xx.

Will be well worth waiting for.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Easy and free service!
I think it's fab that you provide an easy-to-follow service, and even better that it's free...!
