Resident Evil 4 is no longer exclusive to the Nintendo Gamecube and the game is now due for release on the Playstation 2.

The GBA has sold a total of less than 40 million I believe. Add 15 million for the Gamecube, 2.5 million (year end target for the DS) and you are still on less than 60 million.

The PS2 has sold over 77 million.

Negative seventeen million is not a much larger amount than Sony.

What ever money that Nintendo paid capcom to produce resi for the cube only, it was not enough because in the end the cube is a minority console and resi game sales have suffered for it.

Anyone with a brain (Ninty Fanboys need not apply) could see what a mistake going exclusive on Cube was.

Wonder if capcom have come to their senses to late and caused a once massive selling fanchise untold damage.

Just depends on if people want to keep to the same old games. Nintendo have a captive market. If you want a handheld, its got to be Nintendo, Mario and all. But if people get the chance of a rival product, who knows? And, I wonder how many people out there dont have a handheld for the same reason - in other words, they are waiting for something different.

They are number one in the world in console sales through the following:

Nintendo Gamecube
Gameboy Advance original
Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS going by Nintendo is trying to corner a different market altogether and is being supported alongside the GBA. Plus it is catered for the 18+ market. The PSP's sole competitor is the behemoth GBA:SP Sony realise this too.

And you can bet your life that Nintendo will announce plans for a new Gameboy come E3 that will succeed the GBA and sit alongside the NDS in support. With it being more than likely backwards compatible with all Gameboy series games, Sony wouldn't stand a chance, just like Gamecube didn't stand a chance with the PS2.

The Gamecube isn't doing badly at all.

If you live in the UK or Ireland it's a different matter were sales are abysmal, otherwise worldwide the Gamecube is very healthy in sales.

Isn't the cube doing nicely most places apart from Britain anyway?

If you think Sony's PSP will destroy 2 handhelds that corner a different market including the more popular young childrens market then you are a fool.

This kinda backs up what I have been saying. At the moment, Nintendo have the lead with GBA-SP, and the GameCube - which is less popular. But if Sony does to the hand held market what it did with the home console market, Nintendo will be hit for 6.

I don't see why Mario being in 4 of the games proves anyone's point for anything. The games couldn't be more different from eachother - if they were all platformers or whatever, fair enough.

But they're all completely different and all completely fantastic games ... which happen to have Mario in them. Big woo.
