Now for the hard part.
Try singing along to it. Doesnt sound hard but it is. Singing and playing it at the same time is nearly impossible. It makes Dave Grohl even more of a ledgend IMO.
I decided to start at the deep end with some Metallica, which turned out to be a crap idea as the majority of it's rather tough. Didn't really feel like starting with anything simpler like Blink 182 because I detest it.
Now it sulks in its stand, quietly weeping and abused. My friend likes to show off when he comes round by picking it up and whacking out some annoyingly fast song
About the only things I 'mastered' were James Bond, the Simpsons tune, Smoke on the Water and Nevermind - all VERY easy songs
Unfortunately I can't read music and am self taught, so it's a matter of picking up tabs, which I hardly ever seem to do anymore and attempting to play after abusing the 'reverse - play' on the CD Player.
I was getting to a novice stage when I tried Hendrix. I pulled off most the All Along The Watchtower song and then crumpled at the solo. The trouble with his other songs is that it's hard to make out the rhythm from the 'wah wah' when using tabs
So repeating the same songs over and over is extremely boring and I stopped. I may pick it up again but I need a good riff to get me started, preferrably The Offspring ...

I've really been getting into mine this past couple of weeks. Managed to play the intro to "System Of A Down - Aerials" flawlessly. Take a look at the tab if you know the song, you'll probably be less than impressed but it's not too bad for a noob.
> Same notes and progression
That's what we're trying to get across. Doesn't necessarily mean same melodies, but same ways of getting to notes, across strings, incidents between notes, that sort of thing. There's no variation, which is why it all sounds the same.
plus he abuses unison bends WAY too much. And wah.
